comments removed

I've seen a couple times that comments on my stores were "Comment was removed by administration"

I was curious if anyone knew exactly what constituted a comment that needed to be removed by the administration. I've had some really nasty and derogatory comments on some of my stories, but generally dont take them down unless they are so out of line.

From what I have gathered, Laurel gets complaints from readers and pulls comments. I think she also pulls the whole file of comments on some people when they show a tendency to do nothing but troll. For the whole story, you'd have to ask Laurel in a PM.

1. They were advertising spam.

2. They had off-site links, probably more spam.

I've had comments removed that were sort of death threats. Things like "anyone who thinks this is hot needs to die," and other comments along those lines. Sometimes it happens long after the comments was posted, and I haven't reported them. Maybe literotica searches for keywords to find unapproved comments?

The only comment from a story I've ever seen removed by the admin was several months old, and must have been flagged as inappropriate by another reader, since I left it alone. It was a drive-by one-liner talking about how garbage the story was.

I don't mind its removal, but it does make it a bit confusing as at least one other person commented on that specific comment, and its absence is now glaringly obvious.

I've had a few "death threat" type comments (mostly on LW stories) but they never got removed. So I'm going along with the spam theory.

I have just deleted two comments on one of my April Fool entries - for being personal attacks, not comments on the story.

Oh hell no!

Now is when you throw the bitch out and divorce her. Charge her with spousal abuse, sodomy, illegal restraint and a number of other things. Make sure all your family and friends know she was responsible for the divorce. What a bitch! Really a story of abuse and non consent. Nothing funny about it. You really missed the mark on this effort.

I see that as a valid comment by someone who has accepted the (fictional) reality of the characters and the story. I won't remove it.
