Like to grill and work on your lawn? You voted for Trump

I've faced this for a long long time. Vote FOR who/what I want; or AGAINST who/what I don't want; or not at all? Hint: I vote compulsively but haven't picked a presidential winner since 1976. Dr Spock and Ralph Nader never win. Jerry Brown didn't make it either. Too bad.

If the choice is noxious, do you hold your nose and vote against Tromp? It depends on the jurisdiction. I rather doubt California will go for Tromp so I'm free to vote for anyone. I'm a registered Green so in November I'll likely mark the ballot for Jill Stein. Were I in a swing state, I'd consider holding my nose.

Let us not forget that Tromp is effectively destroying the GOP. Way to go!

Let's start with what I emboldened. The GOP destroyed itself, Trump is the result not the cause. And it's folly to ignore the fact that the democrat party is imploding as well. A choice between a criminal and a communist?

The times, they are a changing.........again.

Wow... Some things never change, do they? I'm gone from this place for well over a year (at the very least), I come back to poke around, and you're still going strong. WTF?

You, my friend, have branded yourself as ignorant with that one comment. I'll agree with you about Clinton - she's a fucking criminal. But Sanders? I think you need to educate yourself. If you're saying that democratic socialism is communism, then you need to get yourself back to school. Go educate yourself about the differences between fascism, socialism, communism, and democratic socialism - and quit spouting the faux news versions, FFS...

That said - yup, I agree that the Republican party has collapsed, and Trump is the result. But honestly, look at the rest of the field. They don't have one candidate who'd be worth a steaming pile of dog shit in the White House.

And again, I agree - the Democratic party is in the process of imploding as well.

Both of the above would be the best thing that ever happened to this country.

And Sanders being elected would be the icing on the cake. Someone with common sense in the oval office - how's that for a novel concept in the 21st century??

Edit: Oh, and as to the original title of this thread - I enjoy both, and I voted for Sanders...

The last thing the Democratic establishment wants is Bernie in the White House.

I'm sorry, trump is a piece of shit. I cannot believe that anyone would vote for him.

Three things.
1 - This thread isn't actually about Trump, grilling or working on your lawn.
2 - The thread title doesn't say only people who grill and work on their lawn voted for trump
3 - The linked article doesn't say only people who grill and work on their lawn voted for trump

So I'm not really sure what the point of your non-sequitur is.
I'm not surprised you don't see the relevance.
And I'm not really surprised you completely ignore all three points.

You obviously are also too stupid to realize the thread title clearly says people who like to grill and work on their lawns all voted for Trump, which is not only false, it's coded language. But I'll leave that last point as a mystery to the likes of you, in addition to the enormous mystery of the relevance of my post.
You didn't even read what I quoted or linked did you?

And as for the thread title,
Here's your word for the day.
[hahy-pur-buh-lee]
noun, Rhetoric.
1.
obvious and intentional exaggeration.
2.
an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”.

What about those who hire Mexicans to work on their lawns?
Maybe they hire people to caucus for them, so they aren't tracked.

Amusing thread. Yet more attempts to categorize groups into sub-groups and then, somehow, belittle them. To what purpose, piss them off even further?

To my mind it's just more evidence as to how out of touch the urban elitist's and wannbe's are with the rest of the nation.

So far the evidence seems to point to the fact that the republicans are thoroughly fed up with the party leaders and the democrats are less than enthused with their choices.

The whole process is getting more interesting by the day.
We disagree on more than we agree, but I'd have thought you would get the point.

For those missing the point, here's some more from an article that was linked to in the article I linked.
- Caucusgoers who were expecting a child or had a young baby tended to be Republican, and they showed up in greater numbers where Florida Sen. Marco Rubio was victorious.
- Other family behaviors – those associated with both working and stay-at-home parents, buyers of kids’ clothing and back-to-school supplies – were high at caucus sites that went to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. On the Democratic side, they were split between Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders.
- Caucusgoers in counties won decisively by Donald Trump tended to have stronger household interests – grillers, do-it-yourselfers, lawn and garden and hardware. He didn't do well with business leaders — those whose online behavior indicates they are business owners or executives. More of those folks showed up where Rubio support was decisive.
- Sports fans (NCAA, NFL, NBA, NHL, baseball and fantasy leagues) showed up in greater numbers at caucuses won by Rubio and Sanders. NASCAR fans, however, correlated with Trump and Clinton support.
- Techies – information-technology decision-makers and technology buyers – correlated with Rubio and Sanders support.

And here, also linked, is the original interview on Marketplace

Anyway, this thread is not about politics or candidates, it's about privacy and how thoroughly companies are tracking you.
Voting patterns were merely one example of how they correlate that data and apply it to real world events.

Here's the most closely relevant reply in the whole thread.
p.s. to any stalkers out there, I scrubbed my meta data. let me know if I got it all, thanks
BTW, I'm not in the habit of checking, but yeah, looks like you got it all. :D

Don't really give a shit what the Dem establishment wants. They're just as corrupt as the Republicans. Time for a good housecleaning on both sides.

I see that you still haven't opened a dictionary to look up "communist" yet.

Your three points are irrelevant. What is relevant is my post. I don't expect you to understand that, even though it's almost unbelievable that you don't. Literally. :)

My points are relevant to the fact that your first post has absolutely nothing to do with the thread other than mentioning Trump who is completely irrelevant to the point of the thread.

Of course, if you want to change the point of the thread, have at it. Just admit what you're doing and don't try to claim it's relevant to the OP.

It's too bad Sonny Bono skied face first into a tree, or he might be speaker of the house now, or maybe have Mitch's spot.
That would make the circus complete.
It's a shame Sideshow Bob has to go it alone.

Nothing to do with the thread but mentioning Trump? You can't be serious. No, I guess you are. Okay, I'll spell it out for you. My post was about someone who is a Trump voter.

And I've already spelled it out for you, yet you insist on ignoring it, so once again:

1 - This thread is not actually about Trump, grilling or working on your lawn.
2 - The thread title doesn't say only people who grill and work on their lawn voted for trump
3 - The linked article doesn't say only people who grill and work on their lawn voted for trump

But go ahead and try to pretend it is about politics, I'm done with you.

You are beating a dead horse. Apparently you don't understand your own thread and the relevance of my comment to it.

Time for a good housecleaning on both sides.
And how is this housecleaning to be accomplished? With bullets or with ballots? Bullets get messy. And ballots... both sides (private corporations based in Delaware) have gerrymandered 'safe' legislative districts. GOPs have been rather more effective at this. But few sinecures are ever at risk. Ballots are stacked in favor of status quo.

Supporters of Tromp, Bernie, Cruz, all expect their champion to "break things open", crack the rotten political machine, wrest control of gov't from corrupt elites, re-empower the citizenry raped by gargantuan institutions, yada yada. Ain't gonna happen, not at the presidential level.

What is LIKELY: Tromp and Hill get nominated. The Clinton machine devours Tromp -- who I see as a secret Demo agent. Anti-Tromp voter turnout takes down large numbers of GOP congresscritters. GOP retains statehouses but loses control of House and Senate -- and can still clog the Senate. The game plays on pretty much as usual.

The USA experiment with a democratic republic ends not with a bang but with a whimper.

(Republic: representative gov't, not monarchy or theocracy. Democratic: selected by vote, not by lots or inheritance.)
