Hmmm, I should write What Are Drugs? to accompany What Is Cheating? and What Is Incest? and The Total Moron's Guide to SAME-SEX MARRIAGE. Many substances can be abused. IMHO the most significant substance of abuse is highly-addictive sugar, followed by alcohol and nicotine, all fairly legal in most places. Caffeine, aspirin, and OTC opiates are right behind.

What are your drugs of choice? I try to skip sugar and nicotine but alcohol and caffeine are high on my list, along with medical cannabis (I have a rare scrip), heart medications, assorted herbal supplements, and the inevitable stool softeners. (Acetaminophen aka Vicodin / Norco plugs up guts.) Have you been prescribed mood-altering drugs? Welcome!

Alcohol is a drug. A depressant just like mj. Nicotine in small doses is a stress reliever, in large amounts a stimulant. It's an alkaloid in same family as cocaine and strychnine. Caffeine is a pure stimulant.
