Is the GOP is stupid or just a complete fraud?

The GOP bungled the fight over the Supreme Court nominee.

It was so freaking simple. I could've told them how to handle it. How to throw it back onto Obama and gain the upper hand.

All they needed to do was come out and say that in light of the fact that Obama has already had two picks on the court, both of which have proven to be nearly unwavering liberal votes, and in light of the fact that this appointment will be the deciding vote on countless issues, possibly for decades to come, they extend a bi-partisan hand to work together with Obama to find a judge who has an established track record of moderate decisions and middle of the road views, and would promise to quickly approve this bi-partisan middle of the road nominee. Throw the bi-partisan, working together for the good of the country crap in Obama's face before he had the chance to say anything.

Instead, we get "no vote on a nominee in an election year." Obama predictably responds by "my right to pick anyone I want and shove it down the country's throat again, and you're the bad guys if you try to stop me."

It was so simple. Once again they bungled it entirely and now our most fundamental freedoms are probably lost forever. Could they really be that stupid, or are they deliberately screwing up every thing they do because they are a fraud?

Yesterday's GOP never bothered to teach today's GOP how to compromise. Or today's GOP never bothered to learn.

Mitch is stupid and an asshole. His obstructionism will cost the Rethuglicans control of the Senate and a good deal of the House if the Democrats are the least bit smart.

So it's a 50/50 chance.

Both major USA parties are disintegrating frauds with leaders and ideologies quite divorced from their voter bases. Neither top candidate are members of the parties they dominate.

Parties maintain control by doling out money and favors, but pols no longer need subsist on their handouts. The party system is collapsing; whatever emerges will be... odd...

I'll hopefully die soon and so won't care much about how this plays out.

Cruz-loving End Times pastor uses numerology to prove Obama sacrificed Scalia in pagan ritual

I can hardly wait for Super Tuesday, the Wing Nuts will Fly!

Rick Wiles is one of those end-times pastors who thinks that Jesus is returning any day now and that President Obama is the anti-Christ. Conspiracy theories are spiraling out of control surrounding Justice Antonin Scalia’s death, from being suffocated by a pillow to God killing Scalia to elect Ted Cruz. It was only a matter of time it would become part of the Apocalypse and according to RightWingWatch there is one.

“The 13th was the 44th day of 2016,” he attempted to explain using numerology. “Obama is the 44th president of the United States, so you have this numerology thing taking place.”

He then concluded that the person Obama had kill Scalia, “deliberately left the pillow on his face as a message to everybody else: ‘Don’t mess with us, we can murder a justice and get away with it.’” Wiles insists officials in Washington are all terrified. “Deep down they know, the regime murdered a justice … This is the way a dictatorial, fascist, police state regime takes control of a nation.” He explained considering the fact, “Barack Obama is the most lawless president we have ever had in the history of this great country,” his so-called lawlessness is “a catalyst to wake up the sleeping giant.” That sleeping giant, of course, is the church.

People like Pastor Rick need medical marijuana, so they have an excuse for their delusions!

Tilt. Hillary Clinton is the top candidate of the Democratic Party at the moment (go take a delegate count) no matter how the Sander's supporters are trying to paint it, and she's about as much a member of the Democratic Party inner circle as one can be.

It's true, responding to the OP, that the Republican Party isn't enough together to come up with a scheme as complicated as the one proposed. But, yes, they would be best to signal willingness to go with a moderate justice nomination to avoid not only the likelihood they'll eventually get someone more liberal and that they'll get a black eye by resisting any nomination for more than a year but also because all the time they stonewall and the eight-member court deadlocks on votes, the more likely liberal (because more judges get replaced by the incumbent president than happens with the Supreme Court) appellate court rulings will automatically be upheld. Appointing even a mildly conservative justice would be a relative win for the administration--the one they are replacing was way, way off in rightist land.

Your idea is almost as divorced from reality as the GOP's "No vote on a nominee in an election year".

Nowhere does the constitution say that a President is only allowed to appoint two (or less) supreme court judges.

Your take on President Obama's response is equally divorced from reality. He has affirmed that he will make an appointment because it's his constitutional duty and feels that the Senate should confirm that nominee, or not, based on their merits, experience, and worthiness for the position, because that's THEIR constitutional duty.
If the GOP controlled Senate refuses to do it's job they ARE the bad guys and the Dems should beat that drum all the way to the November elections.

Also, you're still a flaming idiot, which surprises absolutely nobody.

this is exactly why there wont be a GOP president for at least 30 years..

Your brain is small. The election is over. America wants a President with balls, and Hillary has none.

Balls! Shouted Trump, and Hillary replied, "I'd be President if I had to."

Seeing JamesBDipshit cry when he finds out that the only way Trump will be in the White House is by invitation of the President is going to be hilarious.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Herr Blowhard to get that invitation after he gets squashed in the November election (If he even makes it that far) were I you.

Shake DeMorte you cant be more wrong. You talk like the kneepad boys over at Fox. Trump won. Trump won because America is sick of illegals, lost jobs, and ruinous military adventures you and the Clintons luv.

Trump hasn't "Won" jack shit except the approval of morons too stupid to see him for what he is and racists like yourself. The closest he wil get to the Oval Office is a photograph.

Speaking of ruinous military adventures, it was the GOP who marched us into the last several unfunded wars, crashed the economy, and made off with billions at our expense.

You should talk to your doctor about your failing memory.

My crystal ball says Trump wins and you lose.

As noted before, since your crystal ball has never been right over the years you've posted here, I'm quite relieved at this prognostication of yours. Can always rely on your crystal ball. :D

Yes, because they're a bunch of right wing racist lunatics that have no interest in governing the country. Also, the GOP doesn't really get a say in the matter until the confirmation hearings in the Senate. Furthermore, since I know you teahadists love the constitution and have it memorized, the President gets to select the judge not the opposition party.

It's right there in Article 2 Section 2.

My crystal ball says Trump wins and you lose.

Considering that your predictions are correct almost as often as the late Vetteman's (Never) I'll sleep easy knowing that we will have at least another four years of a Democrat in the White House.

The GOP worked with Obama and approved Loretta Lynch, who was very qualified and raised no red flags.

How did that work out?

She is now suing the bankrupt city of Ferguson that was burned to the ground over a case that had nothing to do with race, and spawned the BLM movement.

Lynch is also dragging her feet over indicting Hillary for what what were clearly illegal activities.

And what an incredible immature sign of disrespect on Obama's part to refuse to attend Scalia's funeral. What more important or pressing matter does Obama have on a Saturday?

By his own words, this is the most transparent administration in the history of this country. Where will he be?

Or it could be a sign of great respect to not make the funeral in to a media circus and not disrupt a family's morning with a swarm of secret service people making everyone pass though metal detectors and all the other crap that goes on when the president goes anywhere. Especially for a president who's so hated by so many nutjobs.

Do you have evidence Scalia's family invited the president, since he's "refused" to attend?

Oh look, another one confusing bluster with strength.
