Have any of you ever had one?

I had one last week and I've never been so terrified in my life. I could have sworn there was a man standing over my bed. Screamed the fucking house down.

I wonder how many ghost sightings are these.

It was either a ghost or an alien.

Why is that so hard to believe?

I believe in ghosts and I've seen one.

This was that bit between sleep and waking. I'd had a massively stressful week and was really tired. Didn't make sense I'd see something so horrible when I've lived here for years and seen nowt.

Sounds like what science would call sleep paralysis, but superstitious people refer to as witch rides.

I know you believe.

I think the really bad ones cannot get to you except during that period between sleep and being awake.

I've worked with folks who have narcolepsy without cataplexy who experience hypnagogic hallucinations. Most have been mundane. Nonetheless, folks are often concerned they were developing schizophrenia. Not at all the case.

You might want to consider having a polysomnography test, if you haven't already done so.

I Googled the fuck out of sleep hallucinations and a common one is spiders! Thank god I don't have those, I'd have a heart attack.

I had a hallucination that you got banned from Lit.

It's a sleep study.

Oh right! This is the first time it ever happened to me so I'm not too concerned, just wondered if others had had them. He was such a creepy fucker. Like the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Why couldn't I have had Mads Mikkelsen stood over me whilst I slept.

Doesn't Beat All

I'm the empty in a six pac, who's qualified to be a parent!

Oh, I hadn't realised that was a common one, but I'm not surprised at all. There have been many occasions in which I've thrown the covers—or myself—off the bed.

Why can't I have one of these with Dana Scully??

I've had something similar, but its usually the sounds, that I believe are happening, but there usually isn't a visual.

The same people that believe in the possibility of ghosts dismiss the possibility of the Human Soul.

damn, that sounds pretty fucking horrific. :(

I get sleep paralysis frights every few months.
Although I know what it is, it always frightens the shit out of me because I never remember that that is what I'm having till afterward.
I have never had halucinations, just the awful feeling of being awake but completely unable to move.

Milton H. Erickson MD usta induce hallucinations in his critics. At every hypnosis seminar someone assaulted Erickson as a fraud, and he then had them see things others couldn't see.

I get sleep paralysis sometimes, but it doesn't bother me, sometimes my ghost visits and I am ok with that, but it is when I wake up or think I am awake and the ceiling starts lowering that really freaks me out!
Most of these things seem to happen when I am on a new medication like antibiotics or steroids or something except the ghost.
It is Byron and he just does whatever he wants, though he is careful not to wake me, death has not altered this.
