I must admit, this made me think of you.

The heater in my last tub went out at about -20°F. Probably on a Monday. Wednesday, my tub was a skating rink with 4" of ice. I borrowed a cattle trough heater and augered a hole in the ice to install it. Everything was thawed again in a couple of days and I dumped the water. Fixed it in the spring. But, that tub went with the last house.

The day I flew out to Mexico when it was -15 back in November, the heater on my portable tub seized up. Fortunately, I had checked it that morning and discovered it only hours later. Dumped that 50 degree water right quick and hauled the portable into the garage and there it still sits.
