Ladies, do you like being addressed as.....

If you don't know my name and don't like a swift knee in your crotch you won't call me babe. :) <<<<sweet smile.

As a term of endearment or nickname from a BF/husband fine. If I'm a approached with "Hey, babe" I don't hear anything after that except the Charlie Brown teacher noises until they go away.

A couple of people I know call everyone 'mate', regardless of gender.
Irritates the fuck outta me!

You should be glad you're still at that stage. It will change as you get older, and you'll miss it.

Why didn't you ask the men? Men get addressed as "babe" all the time.

I have a habit of calling guys "Buddy".

A few years ago I went into a bar to meet someone about joining a dart league. I don't know anyone so I go up to this guy and say "Hey, Buddy, you know if Dan's here?"

he turns and says "How do you know my name, do I know you?" His name was Buddy.

My wife and I call each other awful names. It started 40 plus years ago when she called me CREEP all the time.

Lately I say things like MY MEDS DONT LIKE YOU, I TALKED TO THEM BUT THEY SAY YOURE PRETTY FUGGIN WEIRD.

Depends on the guy saying it. I don't mind the nickname as a general rule.

Babe is downright patronizing if coming from an acquinatance or stranger

I don't know you, why the fuck do you think you have the right to give me some cutsie endearment that makes you feel better?

you want to call me something cute, you have to earn it

He calls me baby doll and I call him babe. I don't think either of us checked in with the other, it's just what came out when we reached that level of comfort.

From a stranger it has earned an eye roll and that was sufficient.

Women who don't know me tend to address me as Handsome or Gorgeous.
