tell me about your wings.

I thought this was a thread about red wings. So when the OP talked about dripping, I thought it was a little too graphic for me.

Wings n Things is fantastic in Anchorage. Crispy. I go through a roll of paper towels. Actually, I end up just washing my hands and face when I'm done. I cannot eat these in the car on the way home. It's either there or bring the bucket home.

Heat level: Nuke.

I'm dying the next day.

I've tried to make them before. All that deep frying, then baking with the sauce. What a hassle.

When I first moved to Houston a few years back, Wing 'n Things was THE place for wings. Nothing else compared, and there were often lines out the door (even with other wings joints very close by).

Sadly the quality of the wings has gone down tremendously in the last year. Now the wings are literally the smallest wings around...90% of 'em smaller than your thumb. Wings 'n Things also deep fries them a bit longer than you need to, many are served an unappetizing shade of dark brown.

I tried nuke level once. I have an enormous like of very very hot stuff, but I couldn't handle their nukes.

I had to recheck who this was because there is a Houston, Ak. To my understanding this particular wings n things is privately owned because I'd heard several times the new owner buying the wings recipe for big bucks. Then there was gossip about selling coke out the back door of the store, now I don't hear any more rumors. I believe the quality hasn't gone down for this one though.

Like I said...I'm hurting the next day.

LOL, in Houston, AK the wings, fireworks, and pot will be going out the front door and the coke, out the back.

TIL there is a Houston, Alaska.
Fun fact: there is also an Atlanta, Texas, which is famous as the hometown of Ellen Degeneres.

Also, how do you get itty bitty wings, were they butchering chicks in the back?

Heh. Wings would make some good pot munchies.

Nom nom nom

I don't know! The first teeny-tiny batch we figured they'd just been left in the fryer too long.

The next two times we visited we had the same "shrunken" wings...we figured that maybe they got a good deal on midget wings from their suppliers.

With Wasilla not legalizing pot biz, it only figures that Houston will be the local supply for the valley. Pair that biz with some decent wings and a Dorito franchise, and it's bound to make a pile of cash. I can see the specials, now:

2 oz Matanuska Thunderfuck
2 lb Medium wings
2 ea 16oz Doritos (Cool Ranch or Nacho Cheese)

All for the low low price of.....

I like teriyaki, or garlic parmesan. Yum.

Also, buffalo cauliflower is pretty damn tasty, and not fried!

I have three sets of wings: USAAC, USAF, and RAF. They are all sterling silver, and the RAF wings are Rhodium plated and "untarnishable". No, I didn't earn them, I inherited them.

I don't eat a lot of chicken wings, but when I do, I prefer Popeye's, extra crispy, and with a few jalapenos.
