I hope it doesn't! Too damn cold for that.

We'd be in luck...we got through Sandy well enough, we have a gas stove that isn't hooked to electricity, we hosted about 10 people through that storm.

We'd huddle, but we'd have heat and hot water and I came back from Florida with a survival kit intended for hurricanes not to be believed. We are ready for Armageddon of all sorts.

I'm the same. I could never do an electric stove. I have a generator as well but in the cold I probably wouldn't pull it out. I have a whole trunk full of wool blankets so I'm set. I always have at least 5 gallons of water on hand at any given time as well.

I was in two really bad earthquakes in California, one severe hurricane in Florida and Sandy up here...I feel...okay to handle emergencies. I also like having the big house people go to stay warm and fed, like a border collie with everyone inside the fence.

morning, reci :rose:

are you safely away from the floodwaters they were showing on our news last night? something about a super high tide. didn't look pretty.

Good morning!

Yes, we're safe here, in from the coast, we're about 1200 feet up from sea level. Also on the side of a gentle hill so everything just washes from front yard to back yard and down. Even our basement stays safe.

Today we dig ourselves out, fortunately Ulaven's going to stay home.

Our driveway is plowed, but it's not all good news.

The sunrise is beautiful, oranges and yellows.

I kept opening the door last night just to look at the door-shaped snow.

Ulaven's car is in the garage, but this one is mine...you can tell it's a car because it still has a rear view mirror on the side...

If only!

We had so much snow last year, and lots of icy snow...that last year the car was just covered that far in encased melting and refreezing ice. I lost access to my baby for about three months there and had him parked on the mulched ground and not the driveway so the wheels froze into slush.

I have promised to rescue him, and I shall. Poor thing. Otherwise I won't see him until spring.

I'll save you, Jake!

Hey honey! How are you doing in the weather?

Not much weather here except the heat wave ;) It's been in the pluses for a few days now. It will get above freezing toward the end of the week.
