I'm laying 50-50 odds

Ish, you were convinced that Benghazi would bring her down as well, and we all know how that worked out for the Republicans. She made them look like the fool and her poll numbers rose immediately after the hearings. If it turns out that the emails weren't classified at the time she received/sent them, she'll make them look like the fool again. It's a long election season. She's got plenty of time to wash her hands of this, get the nomination and the presidency. I won't be happy. You won't be happy. But she is too accomplished at what she does, and her husband is just as savvy (maybe moreso). This has a long way to go before it's over.

No I wasn't. I was convinced that it would have a cumulative effect. And it has. Benghazi is not going away either. She's dragging an iron tail around consisting of all her past actions. And while her action with the White House Travel office only put off a few, they joined with the few put off by the Rose firm. Who joined with the few...........well, you get the picture. Incremental erosion of her base.

As far as "accomplished at what she does", just what is that? She says this and does that. She's quite accomplished at selling access, that is undeniable. But in this instance she's put herself outside the law. she's had to walk back every statement she's made as to why that server existed to begin with. Initially it was "only for personal correspondence." We now know that was bullshit. There is NO singular accomplishment you can attribute to Hillary. Many that she claims, but none she earned.

Shifting gears now. It is well known, for decades, that memory is intrinsically tied to the individuals intelligence. We are told that Hillary is "the smartest woman on earth." Yet when it comes to any serious investigatory questions, she just doesn't remember. Which begs the question, "Is she really all that smart, or duplicitous?" I go with the latter.

As far as the 'classified' emails were concerned. SOME of them weren't classified at the time. Regardless, even if they all weren't classified at the time US Code dictates that that is no excuse. All material of that nature HAS to be treated as classified until categorized otherwise. That is the law and that's why the intelligence community is in an uproar. The FBI is pissed because that is the law.

The only statement that I've read so far that is quite truthful is that the government over-classifies material. From first hand experience I can testify to that fact. But as ridiculous as it gets at times that is NO excuse to blatantly disregard the law. A law, by the way, that was violated the instant she received the first 'business' email on that server.

From her participation in the Watergate hearing to this day she's shown herself to be a petty, vindictive, woman with little regard for the law.

What Hillary is accomplished at, Ish, is being a stellar politician. Her husband too. Together they are formidable. That's what I was talking about. Bill virtually gave Obama his second election with his speech at the DNC. He still has that power.

Petty, vindictive, manipulative...all the negative descriptors you want, pile them on and I won't disagree. But despite that, she is no more out of this race than any of the others. I for one am not dancing in the aisles quite yet.

I don't think Benghazi is still an anchor for her either, and certainly not the White House Travel Office or the Rose firm. The only people who remember that stuff are those who hate her and would never vote for her anyway. After all these years, and all the rehashing and wailing of her political enemies, she's not been indicted for anything, let alone convicted. More rehashing starts to sound like sour grapes and double jeopardy. The electorate gets tired of that stuff.

Remember Bill's presidency? It was steeped in scandal for years. He was only the second president ever to be impeached and yet he's still an icon to the Democrats. Clearly, the power of scandal has waned considerably over the years. We're too used to them. It's as if we don't really care as long as the candidate says what we want to hear. And we assume (correctly so, I think) that such scandals are more than a bit political in nature.

But we'll see. I honestly hope you're right, but I fear you aren't.

This is still Benghazi.

This is a result of that investigation.

The problem here, and I have seen it with several other posters, is that if has not happened yet, it will never happen.

Now, if you would want to say that this administration would never indict, I would have to agree with you, but it does not mean that a pissed off FBI cannot convict her in absentia with everything but the most die-hard of partisan voters and that conviction, in the court of public opinion would be harder for her (and him) to bear than anything any court would go.

Remember she is a liar, er, uh, I mean lawyer so remember two words when you listen to her vamp:

Classified: No email I ever received was marked "classified." This is 100% true. Classified is a genre not a specific. They would say things like Top Secret. Additionally we have her email directing her minions to strip the heading where the emails would be marked away before sending them to her. (Lying by omission, physical omission.)

Subject: I am not the "subject" of this investigation. True again. The proper word is target, and when the FBI started looking into the Clinton Foundation, Hillary's aids and Sydney Blumenthal's contacts in government, then it became quite clear, sheis the target.

Now, unlike the last two years, people are starting to pay attention to the candidates.

We hope that we can rely on the people to deliver the justice the government will not.

Not the picayune crap. What I am reading, from such radical right-wing sources such as Salon and Politic, is that women are finally paying attention the the enabling of sexual predation on the part of President Clinton and that, more than anything else is moving them away from her, not to anybody else, just away from the voting booth.

Her vote is being depressed.

"stellar politician"

I would have chosen the adjective "ruthless."

I invite you to compare the crowd turnout for stellar as versus SOCIALIST...

So nothing, then.

((Re your earlier "explanation":
You got me wrong. I know very well that your dislike of me is completely unrelated to the "impersonator or alt" silliness.
But you're wrong about some of your friends - they either buy into the alt thing, or they get too personal because I post in certain threads. Being disliked -ok in my books. But the last 2 scenarios - too creepy for my taste.
I just needed to clarify, in case you feel misunderstood:rolleyes: )).

Sweetie, I never mentioned Benghazi in this thread until you brought it up. It's her attempt to go outside official communication channels that is going to trip her up in the end, not any of the other little stunts she's pulled.

As far as being an accomplished politician goes, Bill yes, her.......not so much. The difference is that in spite of his bimbo eruptions Bill is actually a likable person........she isn't.

Master of understatement...

Your premise is correct when folks do okay financially. Folks did fine when Clinton was President, folks aint doing fine today. We simultaneously have more folks working AND outta the labor force. Ours is now a service economy, and WALMART is the largest employer. I worked for WALMART for 6 weeks then walked up to the asst manager and said, I AINT YOUR GODDAMNED MULE. And I quit. He was fired for stealing large screen HDTVs.

Pay in America increased 40% while Reagan was President.

Pay in America increased 30% while Clinton was President.

Pay in America increased 20% while Bush was President.

And pay increased 5% since Obama took office.

Folks aint done well in a while, so Hillary is doomed. Scandal without wealth is doom.

The numbers on fourth quarter 2015 were in a downward arc...

;)

Worldwide, we have an economic slowdown. Any sort of a recession kills the Democrats.

Had the syphillis spirochetes not destroyed what little cognizant thinking function you had left in your brain, you might have realized that she was referring to all the made-up nontroversies and poutrages that you and your fellow Horseturds of Teh Shitpocalypse have been trying to pin on the Clintons for years ("but..but...Rose Law Firm! Vince Foster! Cattle Futures! Benghazi! LEWINSKI!").

The Clintons have beaten you every time. Every single time.

Because to the Glibertarian mindset, a global economic slowdown is all the Democratic candidate's fault.

Reagan, Bush, and Clinton did not have to deal with the Bush recession coming into office, nor an obstructionist Republican party abusing the filibuster and dedicated to the proposition that "Better Murica to fail than a Negro president to succeed!"

Nobody with a shred of intelligence can deny that Hillary his a long history of lies, deception, and manipulation. Support for her is coming from people who are pathetically uninformed and blatantly partisan hacks who will support any Democrat running for office regardless of their relative experience or ideology. Their denial is comical.

It never fails to amuse when a Republican partisan hack explains the behavior of Democrat partisan hacks.

And it never fails to amuse when the poster boy for victimhood explains the actions of other victims.
