dontcha love a day off that's actually A DAY OFF? a day where you don't have to be up at 7am, a day not filled with doc's appts or shopping or sorting other crap out but a day to take it easy, read, write, lounge in a stupendously bubbly black cherry scented bubble bath with a coffee and a good book, then catch up on a movie or 2.... such is today, and imma making the most of it. even down to jam rolly poly with vanilla ice cream for dessert. :cool:
 
watchng the original war of the worlds... still enjoying it, but can't help but be glad times have changed: actreses get actual acting roles now, they're not just story props to make the hero more heroic, and don't need to sound like a child, a crone, or a 2-D siren. well, 3-D if you count the bewbs.

they'll be quite safe from the nuke blast, just wear protective goggles and crouch behind sand bags!

gotta love all the 50's cars, though, making their way to the safety of the hills :D
 
the looting scene ... all caucasian! though no doubt if there'd been speaking parts it would have been irish/polish/italian accents they'd have used.

(I liked it because science fiction, space, rockets, and space walks.

i was kind of underwhelmed by gravity, to be honest. expected too much, what with the cast, but was left feeling ... bleh
 
Everything is numbers and dollar signs. Must offer something to attract the...*cough*
to fill the seats. Must offer visual stimulation. ( motion) Must not offer too much intellectual burdens.
Must be able to re- sell it in the form of a video game, and other merchandise.

*sigh*

It took the energy and pull of George Clooney to get a copycat version of "Solaris."
