That is possibly one of the coolest maps I have ever seen...if really ominous. What the hell is a glacial event? An earthquake under a glacier?!

Can you have an explosive earthquake under a glacier?!

I don't know exactly that the uni calls a glacial event. There have been some landslides onto glaciers that have not been triggered by quakes that did register on the seismographs. Explosions? No testing here like the North Koreans do....

Trapped? Never.

Do you know when you ski sometimes and you see nothing but white all around you and it's like you are in a cloud not the mountain. That is what I was talking about.

I had no idea about the earthquake when I used the word trapped. Such bad timing on my behalf.

It knocked my toothbrush over. Popped the shower door open. A glass art vase was knocked over, but didn't break. Importantly, my cellar of wine and beer was not affected. I will check everything out once I have breakfast.

Some broken cans of salmon in the pantry and drawers threw up some clothes, but no damage. Sure was hard to go back to sleep.

Glad the Alaskan crew is good to go:cool:

He left the triple perc SciGlass bong on the counter top.

Securing only half of the survival kit doesn't count, NO-GO

:D

:) This happened right across the inlet from one of your prospective moving spots.
Was today's event an exceptional one? Sounds powerful.

It's very cool to ski Alyeska when the bottom is socked in with fog and the top is sunny and clear.

When Blues Central was over at the Chef's Inn location, it was not a hipster spot. Perhaps the Humpys group will profit from the hipsters?

Profit is always good, and live blues/jazz always sounds appealing. The coffee house by day, password by night...well, I hope it works out for them.

They seem to have a recipe for making a buck.

Such a waste of good wine! We get a few earthquakes here as well. I usually do not notice them. It feels as if a large dump truck is driving past the house. Glad all is well on your end. It sounded like a big one.

Fair size. Wife was freaking out. Thankfully, I lost no wine or beer.

I play it safe within the green circle or if I am feeling risky at the blue square.

The video was spectacular, but I stay in during the night thank you. :D

(There is nothing like skiing at night. I am sure)

We have lots of lighted trails here so people can recreate after work in winter. Or, you can go beyond the lights by moonlight or reflected city light, depending on conditions.
