Hello,

Forgive me if this is not posted in the correct spot. I am new here so bit of a learning curve ;)

I just very recently submited my first short story (chapter) to Literotica! It is semi based on facts and a good mix of fantasy about my wife and I, and our journey into the world of BDSM (femdom). I have a few questions.
1. How long does it typically take a submission to be approved?
2. Is this site still kept current? (Based on the boards it looks it.)
3. SHAMELESS PLUG ;) Please if you could read my entry when it clears! I would love any feedback you'd be willing to give.
Thank you all for your time, and have a great day!

Thanks,
New Guy

Not sure about the other questions, but it takes about 2-3 days for a story to get posted.

Welcome to the nut house....

#1 - a couple of days for established authors, a day or two longer for new authors. Add another day or two if there is a contest in progress.

#2 - as current as possible. There are probably 50 new stories published a day.

#3 - not a real big fan of BDSM, sorry.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Yes, 2 or 3 days at most and yes the site is current. In fact there should be a major upgrade coming shortly last we heard.

When your story gets posted put a link in your signature line. Easiest way to promote new writers.

1. Yep, normally two days. My last one took three and we're about to go into a contest, so that may spin posting out a bit as contest stories have favored posting. An audio story will take longer as they are saved and reviewed by the editor at intervals.

2. Not sure what you mean here. The story side is kept current and the forum is real time, but there's a pile of nonfunctioning/unmaintained features here. If you're just here for the story file or the forum you can work around them--as long as you don't try to reach the web site people by e-mail. They only respond to private messages (PMs).

3. There's a Story Feedback forum area. When the story posts, ask for feedback there, giving the genre and a link.

4. Welcome to Literotica.

Depending on what type of femdom, you may want to think about fetish category over BDSM.

I know, I know, femdom in the real world is a huge part of BDSM, but here? There's too many men who get butthurt and freak out if a woman is in control, its 'unnatural'

The fetish category however, seems very receptive to it as the men there seem secure enough in their manhood to enjoy some woman on top fantasies.

Welcome to the madhouse! Since all your questions have already been answered, I'll leave it at that.

One thing: On your Submissions page, do NOT click on the PENDING link. Each time you do so the story drops to the end of the queue. Just wait it out. Have fun!

Hi, New Guy.

Welcome to the AH. :) Yes, this is the correct place to post your questions.

Usually it would take about three days for a text-only story, but there is a contest in progress now, so it will probably take longer. That's assuming the story is accepted, of course. If it's illustrated or audible, it takes much longer.

Once your story is posted, it's usually a good idea to post a link to your index, especially if you want to get comments and critiques.

The normal time to post has been two days for nearly a year now.

One thing: On your Submissions page, do NOT click on the PENDING link. Each time you do so the story drops to the end of the queue. Just wait it out. Have fun!

Simply clicking the pending link doesn't modify your position in the queue. All that does is load the submission information.

For your position in the queue to change, you have to hit the save changes button. As long as you leave that page without clicking that button, you're good.

I've thought "Oh crap, did I ( whatever )?" and double-checked a submission this way. When I discovered that everything was right, I backed out of the page, and the story still posted in the wee hours of the morning, right on schedule.
