Militia takes over Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters in Oregon

Michelle Malkin has the figures. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/280103/costs-occupiers-michelle-malkin

Now, should the Malheur occupants pay up, or should they freeload like the OWS protestors did?

Given that they aren't disturbing private property while the government since I leave by and allows them to disturb private property, and that the government has certainly millions possibly billions of square feet of unused office space I don't think this is really disturbing anything.

I haven't read the whole thread has anyone mentioned that the oregon sit-in is being done to bring attention to the violation of the 5th amendment?

The local government punished these people, They went to trial, they served their time, and paid their fines. Now the federal government, years later, has decided that the punishment didn't fit the crime. HELLO, double jeopardy!?!?

But of course no one here railing against these people cares because it's white people who own land and guns.

Brilliant.

I wonder how much property damage was incurred in Ferguson and Baltimore?

Not sure what that means, but I'm still quite sure you're wrong.

“Ensuring staff and student safety is our greatest concern,” Marilyn L. McBride, the superintendent of Harney County School District #3, wrote in an e-mail. Schools were originally scheduled to reopen Monday following the winter break.

The rural district now will not reopen until Jan. 11. Its three schools — one elementary, one middle and one high — are located in Burns, Ore., a town of fewer than 3,000 residents about 30 miles from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Say what now?

So the schools are 30 miles away from the story but the powers that be seem to think that inconveniencing the students and the public is the 'right' thing to do.

Hopefully whoever made that decision is gone after the next election cycle.

Is it scary that I've read you for so long I can make that into a thought? Them disturbing something isn't really the point. The moment you threaten force and take property you are a problem. We seem to have collectively decided that this is a problem we can ignore aside from commentary and so be it. We'll see if this encourages the next wacko (I kinda doubt it from what I can tell the idea that wackos really draw inspiration from each other seems to be simply hype.

It's not a violation of the 5th. They were not tried a second time, they were found to have served insuficient time. And as far as I can tell the government started the paperwork on this immediately. So from a "fairness" standpoint they got the best possible outcome from an emotional one it must suck.

Utterly irrelevant.

You understand you've just undoubtedly tagged yourself a racist and privileged white woman to GB progressives, right?

Nope.com. But by all means keep spouting nonsense.

Did they get their hair conditioner?
Their french vanilla creamer?
Bed sheets?

Did VatAss date rape another sorority girl?

Viva la resistance!

These fuckers are free to come and go as they please and they want government workers to deliver them shit they could get 6 miles away at Safeway.

Queerbait serves up one of his better word salads, trying to soft-peddle the wingnuts actions while simultaneously giving himself "plausible deniability". The result is the jumbled run-on sentence you quoted.

You've got to love a group that picks a fella named Finicum as their spokesperson. And, if the name alone wasn't funny enough, the fact that Finicum has written an apocalyptic book about patriots fighting for freedom, ought to leave you rolling in the aisles. God bless them all. :rose:

Thank GOD that someone had the thought to help the protesters with their bag-o-dicks issue.

Lube on the way

Hysterical.

Equally hysterical.

A group of armed protesters who have occupied an Oregon national wildlife refuse building for nearly two weeks said a planned meeting with the community likely won't happen Friday, and called on the FBI to leave the area.

"They're fear mongering. We want them to quit acting this way, quit being provocateurs, quit acting as militia and stirring up fear — there's no need for that," Arizona rancher LaVoy Finicum, who has acted as a spokesperson for the group, said Friday.
