I feel that you misunderstood the pov of a few posters, including my own(or perhaps I didn't express clearly what I intended to convey).
Therefore, I'm keen to clarify a bit my pov, in order to erase our temporary fall-out:


1.On one hand I agree with your pov. In that I'm apalled by those acts, and I agree as well that there are a few proponents of the Islamic faith who tend to demean women or view them as objects instead of persons.

On the other hand, I also feel that a few posters made some over-the top generalizations leading to potentially apocalyptic scenarios, where All muslim men are viewed as potential rapists. And that's the part where I became outspoken.


2.And I think that you also confused my gender.
I'm not a man; I'm a woman who views herself as a moderate feminist.
And I had good experiences with several muslim men who treated me with respect. By the same token, I also had some bad experiences with other groups of male muslims.
Due to the latter, I confess that in fact I am a bit negatively biased and I Do harbor some prejudice re Islam (re their view of women). And that I initially keep my distance and employ a cautious communication style with the muslim men that I encounter, until I get to know them better and I'm reassured that they view me somewhere in the line of an equal.
