At first I thought - 'I'd like to make sense of what people do.'
And then I thought - 'oh god I would not either!'
I think you ask interesting and very important questions, NT, but they are questions with so many potentially different as well as sometimes complex answers.
Are you really asking, hey, if I wrote such-and-such is it going to be attacked as 'unrealistic' or something...
My take on the actual question (or questions if you include lesbian relationships) is that people make decisions to use certain keys on a keyboard, or certain notes and musical phrases, or certain chord combinations. 'Sonata.' 'Fedelio.' You see? Kubrick was onto it. But he didn't live long enough to explore his usual trilogy thing.
Wagner's 'leitmotif' concept, too. A male figure is on the stage, the music is one way, a female, the music a different way. That's kind of simplistic but it broadly describes that there are tonal differences, the emotional or sentimental qualities and RANGES of movement that are culturally specific to both in publically obvious terms.
Broadly speaking 'girl luv' contains the element of sensitivity in the feminine or womanly musical phraseology - but then I also personally don't think this means it captures the whole entire 'thing' either.

These are very limiting ideas - or questions - unless you're just going after the 'obvious' publically acknowledged behaviours that are supposedly entailed.
But all the same, if we just stick on the idea of writing something not too many people are going to object to, then, 'girl luv' is about 1. empathetic feelings, 2. expression of feelings of caring for someone else (I don't find anything about lesbianism or 'girl luv' is in any way narcissistic, as much as it is self-regarding...), and 3. I don't what '3' but there's always a third thing. Isn't there?

How far are you going to get understanding a creature with different hormonal structure, different mental wiring, and a boatload of different social conditioning? Did you play with dolls as a kid? If you did, was it a GI Joe on a kung-fu mission? Pretty sure you weren't sighing over any Disney Princes at age 12.
You can't even understand most males. Good luck with an actual gender difference.
There's crap I'll confidently generalise around. The inner emotional structure of a woman is not one I'll attempt.

There really are sexual differences. Like, men murder way more than females do, but females outnumber males for all categories of violence combined. Rapists catch more stds from victims than vice versa. Females war with each other much more than males war with males, but males kill more often when they battle. Male suicides are generally fatal. Females rarely shoot themselves. Females abuse paid time off much more than males do. And no female has ever got to work early. Females favor their male heirs.
