Plenty of juice for Mrs's TV/DVD player, lights, coffee maker, etc. Even the vacuum, once in a while.

One can't help but wonder whether the amount of daylight in winter has some modest affect on property valuations.

As far as I'm concerned it does. I won't live in a place where I can't see the sun on any clear day of the year. I have friends that live in the shadows on northfacing hills. They like it there, but it's not for me.
