I think the GOP congress is going to shut the government down again and hand the WH to (D) in blaze of glorious fuckin' stupidity.

Hillary all but has it if she manages to stay away from the fact that she's 1%'er by the 0.1% for the 0.1% and lying for all she is worth to get in that office and keep the status quo (rich getting richer and fuck poor folks) for at least 4 more years.

Because no one is picking the Republicans to win. They may support him but still think he can't win. Stand by him and watch Hillary rule for 8 years not 4! You may be admired for standing ground on your principles but you will just be watching from the sidelines as the Democrats try for 16 years in a row.

He has distracted voters for almost long enough that no "good" Republican stands a chance to overtake him. Party elites may still not give him the nod to run. He's a loose cannon. The Teahadists and military/industrial complex can't predicate what the outcome would be with him in charge.

I'm actually looking forward to the increase in US immigrants to Canada after he is elected. We need immigrants. And I will admit some assimilate faster. Would prefer some Euros over Yanks but can't discriminate just because they are Americans... Can we?

According to wikipedia 1801-1829 (Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Adams) were all Democratic Republicans. So 28 years stands as the record though that was before the modern parties formed.

Actually 24 years. The Republicans won every election between 1860 and 1880, though that includes a couple of asterisks:

The 1876 election was notoriously controversial (and the Democrat won the popular vote)

and

The 1864 election was (for obvious reasons) not contested in the entire country; also, a Democrat was president for virtually all of what would have been Lincoln's second term.

The Democratic-Republican Party held office for 28 consecutive years, beginning with Jefferson. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States_by_political_affiliation

If you just count the current parties, it was the Dems with FDR and Truman, although that would depend on what you call Andrew Johnson.
