Where is there widespread evidence of discrimination against Muslims?

-Paraphrased from Marco Rubio

According to the notoriously right wing FBI, in 2013 there were 1,223 victims of anti-religious hate crimes:

737 of those were anti-Jewish
167 of those were anti-Muslim
132 of those were anti-Christian (Catholic & Protestant)
197 of those were other religions, multiple religions and no religion.

I think the premise is a bit flawed. (Taking 2013 as an example instead of 2015, giving only net nombers without analysing the overall pattern).

1.You're referring to a year (2013) where the pattern of violence from ISIS had not escalated as quickly as in 2015. So islamophobia was not as prevalent as now.
- You just summed up the nomber of attacks against muslims over one year.

2.Whereas in 2015: on one hand the no. of violent attacks from ISIS have escalated; moreover, they came in unexpected forms. Plus different international context (ie the Syrian reffugees crisis, etc.). Therefore, certain people's fear of muslims or islamophobia are much worse than in 2013.
- Summing up the no. of anti-muslim acts from 2015 would is not suffice, imo.
We need to add to that the pattern of exponential escalation in such anti-muslim crimes over time.

What on earth do hate crimes have to do with discrimination?

You're right, actually. How could we have missed that?
Geez, I now feel that my "in-depth analysis" looks so stupid.…
