Who was threatened with guns ?
Saturday, December 5, 2015
Neenah police said a standoff at Eagle Nation Cycles on Saturday is over.
Neenah Police Chief Kevin Wilkinson said the standoff scene is safe, and there is no longer a threat to the community.
Authorities said a police officer and a citizen were hurt during the standoff and were taken to a hospital. They said the officer is expected to recover.
Investigators said hostages were taken after a man walked into the motorcycle repair shop and fired a weapon, WBAY-TV reported.
Police responded and requested aid from the Appleton Police Department’s SWAT team.
Neenah police evacuated a number of homes and businesses in the area. Residents who live within a quarter-mile radius of the scene were told to shelter in place away from windows and in a basement, if possible.
WBAY-TV also reported the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was sending agents from Milwaukee to help assist local police with the shooting investigation.
