Do you feel guilty about reading pornography and/or writing pornography or erotica?

I don't actually read anything, just come here for the pictures. Get disappointed most stories are full of just words.

If you look real close at the words, they should make pictures, if they are written right. ;)

You nailed that to the wall with railroad spikes in each corner, TR.

Probably one of the top three BEST things I've ever read here and something every author should strive for no matter which category is their specialty.

Very few authors use imagery when they write. They tell their story to the reader rather than show their story to the reader.

With the reader unable to envision their characters, we're unable to care about the characters in the story. Some writers don't even bother describing or naming their characters. If they describe their characters at all, they describe them in one sentence.

Imagery, description, engaging dialogue, tension, and plot, are the biggest differences between erotica and pornography. Yet, more writers on this site write pornography than erotica.

Why? Why are their more pornographic stories than their are erotica stories?

Because, in most cases, it's much more difficult and takes a better writer to write realistic erotica than it takes to write pornography.

Nope

It's is pretty much the only sexual activity that I get. I can provide my own pleasure much better than my 36 year partner who just thinks for herself.

Absolutely! Sometimes I can't even work out (from the story) which way one of the characters is facing, other times I'm left wondering whether they're vertical, about to fall over, or horizontal - these things matter.

BTW I realise that you were talking more about the characters as well as the action, but if even the action is confusingly unclear, the people in the story tend to be even harder to get clear in my mind's eye.

The beauty of writing a story is when you're surrounded by the characters that you created and they're all talking to you at the same time. When that happens, I can't type enough. When that happens, my writing is inspired.

I routinely write in 30 of the 35 categories on Literotica. Being that I can only write what I know and being that I'm not gay, lesbian, a cross dresser, have never had anal sex, and/or don't have a fetish, I couldn't write any of those stories and make them believable if I didn't have help.

Once I give life to my characters, my characters write the stories for me.

Thank you for your post.

With me writing under my real name, even though I felt terribly guilty and ashamed for writing erotica, I don't know.

Now I don't care who knows that I write adult, sexy stories. Those who do care and who make a face probably have a box of dildos beneath their bed and a man hiding in their closet from her husband.

I'm proud of everything that I write and all that I've written. With writing a lifelong apprenticeship, in 40 years, when I'm 83-years-old, I'll be a wicked good writer.

No.

But I do keep it private.

"Shh. My lips are sealed. I won't tell anyone that you were here."

Susan looked at the private investigator, 49greg's wife, seven children, and his priest.

"Who? 49greg? That doesn't ring a bell. I don't know anyone by the name. Try the bar across the street. This is Literotica. Only, perverts come here and I seriously doubt if 49greg is a pervert."

She watched them all walk across the street and go into the bar.

"Okay, 49greg. The coast is clear. Nice dress by the way. Be careful walking in those high heels. Quick. Get inside Literotica before they see you dressed as a woman. Hey, big Louie, guard the front door. No one gets in unless they flash their user ID."

Nope. Never have felt guilty about writing / living a porn lifestyle. It's my/our business, and we love it, so that is all that matters. It's a form of release for me from my busy everyday life, so I adore it. I have been a lit member for years now and also posted hundreds of pics all over Voyeurweb and Redclouds for 15 years and just LOVE the interaction, showing off and feedback......
