God died in 1982.

God is a job title, not a proper name. Did the position go redundant in 1982? I can think of a few thousand deities to apply. Or I can carve a few more and set them up for the gig.

It's a code name, like James Bond.

Dead gods are less bothersome than undead gods. Those fuckers can get messy.

Especially when they are exhumed and/or pieced-together from scattered bits, and re-animated. Zombie gods are nasty. And they leak.

Funny how Xianity revolves around zombis and ritual cannibalism. And it's legal, mostly.

Gods are immortal. They can't die. They just become irrelevant or mythical.

What is difference between myth and religion?

You're thinking of Liches.

In fantasy fiction, a lich (/ˈlɪtʃ/;[1] cognate to Dutch lijk, German Leiche, Norse lík and Swedish lik all meaning "corpse") is a type of undead creature. Often such a creature is the result of a transformation, as a powerful magician or king striving for eternal life uses spells or rituals to bind his intellect to his phylactery and thereby achieve a form of immortality. Liches are depicted as being clearly cadaverous, bodies desiccated or completely skeletal. Liches are often depicted as holding power over hordes of lesser undead creatures, using them as soldiers and servants.

Unlike zombies, which are often depicted as mindless, part of a hivemind or under the control of another, a lich retains revenant-like independent thought and is usually at least as intelligent as it was prior to its transformation. In some works of fiction, liches can be distinguished from other undead by their phylactery, an item of the Lich's choosing into which they imbue their soul, giving them immortality until the phylactery is destroyed

I usually adventure with high level priests. That's there job!

I saw Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Jimmy Hoffa in the flying saucer. They said HI.

That's the big riddle of this thread: which 3rd class brazilian soap opera star with big tits died in 1982?

Btw
Geez! The songs from that year really sucked.
I had a look through them and I couldn't find any that I liked.

My dog died that year as well. Gave it a wonderful funeral. Spared no expense.
Twenty one gun salute, Vicar, even a marble tombstone.

Got another one soon after though. But it doesn't fetch my slippers like old Deefer did.

Deefer Dog..get it? :D

It was the 80s. Must be felt like the 60s felt for us. Supercorny, bad sounding, something missing.

But for Germany, it was a cool time. Begin of New German Wave. Nena had her first hit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMTzk1kNcI8) ,Spliff was cool (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjMP1DAKg08), Udo Lindenberg was on top.

I liked "the Damned Don't Cry" by Visage (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVsrcmW3Yc8)

Another dog died in 1987, not the one that replaced Deefer. That dog got married and left home.
He got a sea burial. cos he asked for it in his will.

Do we go with Plato and God is on a higher plane that we cannot actually fathom, but unconsciously guides our understanding of God, or do we go with Aristotle and the idea that God is made in our image, only perfect?
