I need to make curry, it's been too long. Or even better I'll pop over to butters' house and steal some of hers.

i still might download it. i had to cut off my true blood marathon because i was getting bored of it. i need new movies. even mediocre ones will do.

at least until jessica jones comes out. then i hopefully won't need shit for awhile aside from maybe a week to rewatch daredevil.

Have you ever watched Goon?

Or The Guard?

i'm fairly certain someone once suggested goon to me, but nope. i'm not big on hockey.

or seann william scott.

yeah, i googled it. otherwise i never would've remembered that fuckers name. i'll never forgive him for mr woodcock.

not sure it even qualifies as a curry but, for me, it was the best i've ever tasted.

it was an accident first time around with the pork (i'd let the beef go too long and didn't want to use it), and i think i used carrots and garlic and broccolli in there too. so, i wanted to do a curry, hadn't used the red thai paste before, just the green. i wasn't expecting the heat! so when i tasted it halfway through cooking, all i got was masses of heat, little flavour - so raided the cupboard for the crunchy p-nut butter and then added some honey. it calmed it down and then i could taste all these fab flavours going kapowie in my mouth! second time around, i used beef, but had run out of honey so used golden syrup instead, and used mushrooms in there too. still fab. so now i'm doing it with the chicken to see. the offspring preferred the pork, i preferred the beef, and the jury's out on the chicken till it's done.

Chicken is great. Just watch the fat content. I usually buy lamb or chicken thigh fillets. My Thai paste recipe is very basic. Green curry paste in a pan or wok. Heat with oil to release flavours. Add chicken or lamb, fry for a few minutes, in with the coconut milk and/or cream (depends on how much you're making) fish sauce, sugar, lime and whatever veg you want to put in. Takes about 15 minutes all up.

Chili is ready for tonight's dinner, groceries purchased for a fun weekend AND I'm working on Cacoila...my TiTi would be happy, although I'm not sure it'll be as good as New Bedfords.

If Gianbattista were home tonight we would be having vegetarian curries for Diwali. But he isn't so I had some lumpfish caviar, which i realise is quite black and is almost absence of light..

We'll have curries at the weekend I think. :)

Elle

I'll be visiting you guys this weekend then. ;)

:D

Your word is good enough for me.

yours sounds fab with the lime and fish sauce

frying the meat n onions/paste/spices is how i normally do it, but just played it by ear this time. as for fat content... lord only knows! a whole chicken's worth of meat, no skin, the coconut milk, cashews (when i have them), the p-nut butter... gotta be loaded, but it's a rich dish and i wouldn't eat it all the time. well, i would, but i'm not looking for a heart attack :)

Now I want a bastard curry. And onion bhajis. And peshwari naan. And a pint of Stella.

i forgot the peshwarisas well! fuck's sake!

i need to write stuff down, but it was my first trip up the shops in a while. took it out of me, too.

I love them in curry too. And cous cous.

Ooh yeah me too.

You like a lot of food that I like. :)

I absolutely agree! It's just so laughably stupid. My FB feed is filled with this, most calling it ridiculous.

It's a tiny group of people who made a mountain out of this molehill.

Now, I want Starbucks. And, later, curry.

Bring on the 1st so I can put my tree up!

I'm just trying to think whether or not I've had Starbucks before. I remember having coffee down in Melbourne one time a few years ago, but I think that was from a 7-Eleven.

Jesus fuck that was a mission of a trip down to Melbourne. Flew down for a work thing. Straight to the party from the airport. Didn't even have time to change.

I get there and my boss hands me champagne and starts introducing me to all these people. I remember him saying "This is _____," and I'm like "Nice to meet you." And then later on that person gets up to sing and I'm like wow! Turns out the person had won X Factor or something. I had no idea. :D Few more drinks and I head back to the hotel. Wake up a couple of hours later. Finally manage to get my boss down to the lobby. He wants coffee. By that time it's like 4.30 AM. The taxi comes and we go to the airport. We've missed our flight. Get back to Sydney (finally) and he's left all the Christmas presents at the hotel.

Fuck's sake. :D

Zero fucks were given that day by me at work. I slept for a bit in my office and then left at lunchtime. 7-Eleven coffee helped me some, but my boss was maggot. Amateur. :D

A whole chicken? Hahaha! You are awesome! Yass! :D
I suppose it'd be perfect for lots of hungry mouths, wouldn't it?

I got tired of fighting.

It eventually dawned on me that I could never win. You can't fight them all.

There were so many of them and so few of us. They had the advantage of oceans of money, near universal ignorance and the credulity, cupidity and short memories of the masses.
