Thaddeus Russell is the author of A Renegade History of the United States. He takes a brash, maybe even borderline blasphemous look at the American bourgeoisie and puritans of the past. How did weekends come to be, and how did the mafia, brothel madams, minorities, homosexuals, and others considered "deviant" by the ruling puritanical culture help shape the nation? And is it possible to criticize the suffrage movement and even Martin Luther King Jr.?! Cenk Uygur hashes it all out in this probing interview with Thaddeus Russell.

A history of shamelessness! :)

No Republican/Democrat were harmed in this, in fact it is apolitical in intent.

An alternate look at the recent history of America.

Haha, I dip in that, too! (The young turks) Besides the one mentioned in the OP's other thread.
Not trying to be overfamiliar and also, my knowledge re history is quite mediocre.
Nevertheless, I am struck by the fact that the two "parties" on Lit. (cons., libs.) often end up citing the same (diametrically opposite) sources.

Shut up, Dishrag.

Shut up, Dishrag.

Reposting it from the "GB Blurt thread":
TO MY FIVE OR SO TROLLS:

Some of you already ruined my "work relationships" with a couple of people from the "Story Ideas" forum, by bringing up the "pervy gay female impersonator" and a few other nasties.

And now you decided to start following me in the Political Forum? To ruin it for me, there, too?

What's wrong with you people?
Keep it contained!

What pervy gay female impersonator?

This sounds more interesting than the thread. A vegas show? Circus act or maybe performance impersonations? I'm thinking Ru Paul, am I way off base?

Dishrag there is a man claiming to be a woman. Occasionally he slips up, because he's not too bright.

I love America for that.

Sometimes it seems to me, all that hypocrite morality is just to bring more tension into that comic strip that is life in America, watched from a European perspective.
