or weirdest dream
had a dream the other night a bunch of dogs were trying to bite me in the middle of a field.

I have a recurring three night one,

1. wake up on a steel table
2. wake up and x's drawn over all my bones
3. i wake up to them being pulled out one by one

I was walking through a park, smoot jumped out of a bush and asked me if I wanted to have a baby.

That one day, I would join a forum and start nearly 100 threads in my first 100 posts and never interact with anyone after starting each thread. I think that would be very lonely, Canky.

You cannot win the Internet by endlessly starting threads and sitting back and patting yourself on the back if one of them happens to take off despite your lack of input.

How do you decide to start a conversation that you have no interest in participating in? Do you just look at what seems a popular topic on Reddit or 4chan and duplicate a topic here?

I am curious about your process.

My polar opposite, twelve thousand posts and still no thread started. I've always been a late bloomer.

Never? I hadn't realized that. That, itself, might be an interesting thread. "Do you ever start threads and if not, why not?

Do you simply find other places to post what is on your mind?

Frequently, I wouldn't mind a day or two feedback on some question I have on my mind but some things seem less than independent thread worthy, but not really a blurt either.

I can't remember the issue but I got a cat dumped on me and I had queries about the care and feeding of. I think I started a thread which fortunately dies in obscurity after getting my answers. I wouldn't want to host a perpetual thread on cats.

There's an entire interweb for that.

I frequently go to Blurt when I have a thought to float. I'm less inclined to enter the political or economic debates these days except to poke AJ once in a while just because. As you have suggested, if you start a thread you should maintain a presence in it...which I'd rather not be bothered with.

Premonition

Mine was not really a nightmare but rather a premonition of events to come. About a year or so before the event, I started having a recurring dream. The dream was about me being on the freeway, trapped between three semis, one in front, one behind me, and one at my side blocking me in. The semi in front slowed down while the semi in back inched closer and closer until if the one in front slammed on his brakes I would have been sandwiched. I finally managed to get off the expressway. When I got home I was a nervous wreck. My legs and arms were shaking. My wife asked if I was okay. All I remember saying was I needed a drink.

About two years later as I was coming off one expressway onto another one, I found myself in the situation that I had dreamed about. It was so scary looking at those trucks as they wedged in.

I have had this type of premonition before but it had a good ending.

Yeah, me too. Not the "bothered with" part. I mean I'm here, as smooth would say, "fuck else imma do?"

I mean that it seems like if it's your thread and it's a general comment, it makes sense to acknowledge it, banter back, do something. I'm good with that.

What I find uncomfortable is when someone ventures in, means well, but just doesn't really spark my interest. I feel patronizing if I respond and sort of rude if I ignore them.

That Jezzi thread has taken off a bit, and my name is only n the title because its funny for "okay.' People seem to assume it is about me or for me, so now I seem to be co-hosting. Fortunately it has been relatively pleasant.

I dreamt Yosemite Sam was playing honky-tonk piano and singing CUDDLE UP AND BE MY LITTLE HONEY-BEE and he shouted the third line of the quatrain.

Over and over.

I couldn't get that out of my head for years.

But that was long ago.

I dreamt I was in a decade long marriage stuck in the grind living in the suburbs.

That nightmare ended 3yrs ago :D

Molly.

Lasted a whole year!

I have a lot of violent dreams. I have them often. One day I'm going to do research on dream interpretation.

I have a recurring one of sorts. Not always exactly the same but always involves the same type of house. It's too hard to explain what's scary about it though. I've never been able to adequately get it across to anyone. Anyway, it's so bad I can't stand to be in a house with 3 stories. It's not a haunted thing, something else. I always hope I'll figure it out some day but I've been having it for going on 60 years now so hopes are fading.
