yep, like thai. an absolute bastard to learn. managed a few phrases to get by with, makes them laugh and breaks the ice.

Think I'll stick with Italian...

I learned sufficient French at school to still be able to get by. And German to a pretty good conversational standard, but for some reason my man doesn't like to hear me speaking German, instant turn-off...

no italian for me. got german from my army days, and can get by in spanish - depending which spanish-speaking country i'm in!

then again, in the 'Dorm, it don't matter 'cause everyone's a brit, anyway!
