This one is especially for HP and Ogg...

Speaking of drums and fifes and flutes and tubas...check out the Ohio State University Marching Band's great performance at Wembley Stadium yesterday:

This is why they are called 'The Best Damn Band In The Land' in the USA

 :nana:

.

I'm a bit concerned about their version of our National Anthem (would they do that to the Stars & Stripes, or whatever it is?).
But I did like the ending, with the flags of both nations.
It was all most impressive.
:)

Sometimes TBDBITL gets a little more creative than they really should with the music.

I'm pretty sure there were some raised eyebrows over here that they displayed the Union Jack in a more prime position than our Stars and Stripes. But hey...when you are in Rome you pay homage to the Romans...in spite of that little tiff we had a couple hundred years ago. ;)

Glad you liked it. :)

Perhaps not, but I've heard bands from other nations do it to the Star-Spangled Banner.
I remember the New Zealand national band giving a rather unusual rendition of it; I actually thought it worked nicely. Wish I could find a clip of it.

Nothing will ever be worse than when one of our own did this to the national anthem:

Roseanne Barr Murders the Star Spangled Banner

Hard to believe that was 25 years ago.
