Justin Trudeau elected Prime Minister of Canada...the Liberal Party triumphs and the evil Conservatives lose ! As a newcomer to Ontario, Canada, by way of Boston, Massachusetts, I can't tell you how happy that makes me. The Conservatives, led by Stephen Harper of redneckville ( Calgary City, Alberta ) painted everyone who is Black, Arab, Chinese, Indian or Aboriginal in Canada as a potential terrorist. Michael Zehaf Bibeau, the terrorist who shot the Canadian military man on Parliament Hill in October 2014, was a WHITE MALE of French Canadian descent, but somehow, Harper painted minorities as the menace to Canadian society. I'm sooooooooo happy to see the bigoted, evil Conservative Party lose. How about you ?

I too, am glad that SH is out, the Cons continuing in power and therefore potentially affecting my career was becoming a very real possibility. But is Trudeau any better? Those with long memories remember well what his father put us Canadians through. I am worried that Justin just doesn't have the experience and will just end up toeing the party line and following the powers behind the throne. Will have to see what happens there...

But....he is suppose to be legalizing marijuana....which, really, was going to happen sooner rather than later. They are just trying to figure out the best way the government will be able to sell it to consumers and make a profit off of it. Much like our LCBO and Brewers Retail here in ON....lol.

I would LOVE to see the day when we have 2 ballots - 1 for voting for the person in your riding and 1 for voting in the PM. Would solve the problem of vote splitting, and we really would have the best man for the job.

I think Trudeau is going to fuck things up royally, he will be an embarrassment meeting with other World leaders.

It may take him four years to learn to be a proper PM. There will be gaffs made and mistakes. After 10 years out of power they are out of practice ruling.

Not sure I like the deficit spending plan. If oil rebounds, then we are back in the black. Commodities are down world wide. But 4 years is a long time and the world needs our resources. Would be nice to get back all the manufacturing jobs.

Harper was a right wing one trick oil pusher from the west. Quite an arrogant PM and government. Never did like his high Canadian dollar. Hurts exports. And we are an exporting nation. His weakening of environmental stuff was bad too.

There is, in the big picture, so little difference between any parties, none of them can fuck things up bad enough the next group can't undo within 4 years.

We will get back to being more inclusive and peaceful. Which is always a good thing.

Justin can handle world leaders. He's seen a lot of them and their kind in his life. Probably sat on Fidel Castro's knee at one time as a kid. Photographers are going to love his looks and his wife. Media likes you, people like you.

Then we might as well have three votes. What if another candidate was better for your riding (mega business connections), but another party for the country's best except you don't like their leader.

One vote. Make a decision, Over and done with. Once for municipal, provincial and federal. With one or two constitutional referendums in a life time. They are the big wigs getting the big bucks, let them make the decision on their party leader.

If they get it wrong they chance losing next election.

Hopefully oil rebounds. Other commodities too. We have mega natural resources. It's like money in the bank. Just hard to access sometimes. We have 3rd largest known oil reserves in the world. And a huge energy and resources devouring country right next door.

You guys are our biggest customers. You do well, we do well.

I'm happy that Trudeau won. I was sick of the Conservatives and their divisive, cynical politics, even though I benefitted from many of their boutique tax cuts. Optimistic about what the future holds for Canada.

I hated Stephen Harper with a passion. The only person I hate more than this fucker is Ronda Rousey, who ALSO lost. Good.
