Fascists and socialists are much alike but there are important differences.

Hitler ordered Albert Speer to manufacture a million farm tractors, and Speer built 2 million tractors, none of them right for farming.

Stalin ordered his guy to manufacture a million red tractors then ordered the paint guy to stop making red paint. True story.

Fascists and socialists are much alike...

The rest is not worth reading after this absolutely false statement.

Please go read a history book. Fascism and State Communism (not the same as socialism) are opposing ideologies.

both responses to modernity, industrialisation and mass politics, post French Revolution, in Europe. Many similarities, many differences, they certainly aren't reified opposing black and white essences.

Split the baby: go with national socialists. It worked well in Germany for about four years.

Old people tend to like to label things. Good/bad, black/white, yes/no. Sound reasoning and discernment is one of the first things to go.

Nothing but words
Never understood
never fully heard
let them pretend.

Yeah, and America is socialism, too. We know that bullshit.

Yes, it is.

You even participated in my thread.

Let us start with the "Progressive" Social Security...

A mandate that no matter who you are, if you earn money you have to but retirement insurance.

Socialism means social or government property.

So, clearly, the Dow-Jones is owned by the government.

Socialism is as much a fiction as Capitalism.

That definition means crown.

;) ;)

Mercantilism...

Free Market (classical Liberalism) means government limited to that charter of negative liberties that President Obama has railed against. Everything else is a mixed, interventionist economy and that always tends to Socialism, either by Democracy, or by Oligarchy.

Both ideologies

Both led to death of hundreds of millions of innocent people. Just saying.
Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, Fidels's Cuba, and many African countries today.

They were both totalitarian states. Fascist, communist, socialist, theocratic, autocratic makes no difference. It's the totalitarianism that defines many of examples of each.

ISIS and Al-Qaeda are fascist totalitarians. Being Muslim is not the issue anymore than being German was during WWII. It's the totalitarians. Nazis, Commies, Dictators, Extreme-fundamentalists!

Western democracies fight totalitarian states. Nazis, Soviet Communism, Islamo-fascists, tin-pot dictators (without oil if possible).

All western countries are socialist. Social-democracies. That is who we are and what we fight to defend. And impose on the rest of the world.

I got the red tractor story from Kruschev. In Russia tractors hadda be red but red paint wasn't made, only green.

I own big fat books on fascism and socialism, and I lived in Spain when Franco ruled. I know fascism first hand.

Hitler ordered Albert Speer to manufacture a million farm tractors, and Speer built 2 million tractors, none of them right for farming.

Germany first had a million Tractors in 1991 and reached a maximum of 1.03 million in 2000.

So it would appear that the ghost of Joseph Goebels was doing the production stats you quoted for Albert.:)

to me fascism is basically the darkside equivalent of democratic socialism. they were both attempts(at least initially) at fusing liberalism and socialism, but they both went at it in completely different ways.

and in the case of the nazis they didn't even really do that. they just pretended and then they killed off the suckers who actually bought the lie when they felt they were safely in power.

and they weren't the only ones who did that, really.

basically, fascism is fucking bullshit.

No it doesn't.....you're just in denial that the US, in every single state has been socialist to some degree since day 1.
