Hi Sienna, Thanks for the KISS. Many in return too you as well as anything else you desire ;)

It seems the biggest Companies make the biggest mistakes, a number of years ago
Coca- Cola decided to change their recipe, a very costly mistake. Microsoft had enthusiasts queuing for hours for Windows XP. since then they have hardly put a foot right. Windows Vista and Windows 8 were generally disliked.

In my business I have found that some large companies have a poor
attitude towards quality. They are BSI/ISO approved, but do not keep
up to these standards. I do not wish to speak out of disrespect for both
BSI and Lloyds Register, but I think their audits in these large companies
with quality approval get it by somehow "slipping under the net" shall
we say and perhaps money has a voice in there somewhere?

Good evening beautiful lady, I hope your day was well and your coming bed-a-by blissfully sweet. But by all means feel free to kick up as much of a ruckus 'tween sheet's as suits you fancy. ;):rose:

If I may chime in, I managed a lumber/hardware store for several years. I was able to purchase from both large and small companies or manufacturers. There is no doubt that the larger the company the lower the standards are. Whether it be shipping issue, product quality or making a wrong right. I will buy from the little guy every day of the week and yes I will pay more if it means better quality and keeping the "mom and pop" store in business.

My two cents

Good for you mike. Your one of the customers that make marketing easier and keep local businesses open. Most of what your talking about is community driven which in turn is dependent upon the population matrix and size. I did a lot of business models for folks wanting to do a Mom & Pop set up, some did pretty good.

One of the problems I observe in today's society is a lack of time. People would prefer to run in and run out. They don't think about what went in to the product or service they are buying. Just can I get it quick, cheap and easy. The yard I managed was driven out of business by one of the larger BOX stores. I had the smallest yard in a small more rural area. While the store always maintained a profit it was not growing the company profits and the owners decided to close that yard.

A great many years ago when I was a buyer in a refrigerator manufacturing company, those standards were just coming in, when I had cause to complain about damaged supplies , the answer came back " but we are BSI/ISO approved, as if going on a course was an end in it's self.

This is exactly what my QA business does Mike :) We help the small companies stronger in quality provision :)
It is already working if you read back a few posts :)
We have created minnows that beat the whales on a certain product and we have not finished yet :)
There are more small companies we WILL make stronger in providing quality goods and services :)

I did read back and I'm really excited about you helping the "little guy". I was involved, when I managed the store, with the local chamber of commerce. It helped but they were not focused on the QA end of the business. It's nice to see that you are actively working for the little guy's.

We have somehow strayed from the main topics of Seinna lovely thread, can we get back to houghmagandies? :D

A great many years ago when I was a buyer in a refrigerator manufacturing company, those standards were just coming in, when I had cause to complain about damaged supplies , the answer came back "but we are BSI/ISO approved", as if going on a course was an end in it's self.

Our aim is to train the vital employees, which will pass on the methodology onto
the rest. We don't use "Quality Circle" methods. In the case of engineering,
we get the company to employ a Quality Engineering Manager who does day to day
audits on production and warehousing/packaging which includes Customer Service.
Their bible is the Quality Manual ISO9000 in all parts and all product standards. The thing is,
when I audit them finally I get the approval for them after required training courses.
Some courses I run "in house" myself regarding the technique and method. Every six
months following approval I go back and do a full quality audit.
Too many crosses and not enough ticks and their approval is GONE...
I even check customer complaints and why...

Job's provide us the means to provide for ourselves and families as well as live purposeful and enjoyable lives. This in turn allows for a bit more freedom in exploring avarice and lusts. The later two I suspect are of prominence herein so please continue on with the tales of the sublime.

Me? Hmm? Would you like to hear the one about the Apache exotic dancer who lost her clothes in a misadventure. She over indulged and was pulling a train, so to speak, in a somewhat ill advised location. I believe you would have enjoyed meeting her, she was...interesting... Sometimes the things you stumble upon are amongst the oddest of memories. Occasionally being a nice guy pays off in curious ways.

Speaking of job. I lost count of how many times I lost my concentration at work today and the meeting I was in today is a total blur. :D;)
