Michigan Roll Call

I'm a bit pleased and a bit bummed that I will be on the West Coast during the big foosball day. Carting gurl2 back to college and driving the blue-star or was it red arrow?...heh heh looking at dead leaves and old furniture and other discarded (expensive junk...maybe for cheap...?)

At least I'll be avoiding the invading hoards. Probably be broadcast on some radio, right? Locally, I use AM radio!!!!!!!!!

AM radio! <That and Morse code is how we defeat the aliens!!! (with a touch of cold virus):D

You need XM. That is one thing I really love about it. I've done a few trips up north alone and other states for work. I can listen to sports games that are local for us anywhere I can get a signal

But you have to PAY for that, right?!

Not happening soon.

A pile of CDs and whatever FM comes in.
In ONE of our cars we have a jack for the iPODs.

I enjoy watching the games (just "my" team) or listening, but more interested in my music playlist.

Yea, mine is $200 and change once a year. My Christmas gift from my mom is $160 towards it. I cover the other $40 because I wanted the streaming part of it also.

My son, who works in the film industry and lived in New York city, was designing a set one day that was set in the SE Michigan area. One of the storefronts he put together was a Coney Island, with a prominent "Gyros" sign in the window in Greek. Everybody else on set kept asking him, "What's a 'Coney Island' dog? And why Greek?"

Evidently the whole "coney island" thing is purely SE Michigan; they don't have them in New York, not even on Coney Island. Funny.

What's a guy-row? :D

I can't believe there is not a ton of chirping going on here!!!

Liven it up....lets here some trash talking!!! :D :D

Still in disbelief. It's not fair to put it all on that last play though. Michigan had too many missed opportunities. Hats off to Sparty for not giving up.

My wife said, "There's no way Michigan can win; State has been too strong the last two years, and Michigan has too many young players." Didn't look like it to me, though.

Congrats, Sparty fans.

Can we discuss the S-word? Still too early?
We had five minutes of flurries in my town. None stuck, but places in the UP had some stick. I like how every year people say it comes earlier and earlier. I feel like it held off a bit.

ESPN said 0.2% chance of State winning in that fashion. How the fuck you even come up with that number I have no clue.
Their "stats" are lies! Plenty of games are won in the last minutes of the game, Michigan was considered the underdog .2%? eff you, ESPN...

I think you misunderstood, Brat; the odds of State winning in that way were allegedly 0.2%. That wasn't the line on the game itself.

And I agree; I have no idea who came up with that number, or even how you could calculate it.
As for "blowing the game"...*shrug* Shit happens. It's sports.

The wife is in Roscommon this weekend and reported snow there. About 1/8", and it all melted once the sun came out. Made a soggy mess, so I'm told.

I'd better go shopping for the new snowblower, I guess--old one died at the end of last winter. But after 30 years of service, it didn't owe me anything, so I gave it a dignified memorial service and then chucked it out for the trash.

Taps was played I'm sure. :)

Had a bit of a nip in the air down here in SC this morning...was down in the 50s. Sorry, all this talk about snow and snow blowers, I couldn't resist. :)

What an insane ending to the MSU/U of M game... crazy!!

Loved seeing MSU win too..

Had a few flurries in Flint this morning... BRRRRR!!

I'm totally not ready for it to be cold.. :(
