MFM long term relationship, pros and cons

This is a re post of a topic that I tried to start in the general thread and received nothing but off topic and rude replies. It is a serious request for info and hopefully mature discussion. I have posted on another topic on the general forum. Am I the only one that has problems with the general forum??

here's my copy and paste to this [hopefully] more serious and friendly forum.............

Would like to hear other's experiences about this subject, both positives and negatives, successes and failures, etc.

How to handle finances, jealousy, rules of engagement, age differences, public appearances, legalities, sleeping arrangements etc.

Seems like it could be successful if the right people with open minds, similar tastes and interests, but it could be a recipe for disaster if things go south. The dynamics of a normal MF relationship can be complicated enough and a third person could complicate it even more, or be a tie breaker with a 3rd person's vote.

Hopefully you can get better responses here. I've had problems with the general board as well.

The only advice I can offer is for there to be nothing but open and honest communication between the 3 of you. It will vary between relationships. It will take a lot of trial and error. I hope it all works out for you.

Putting anything in the General board is a recipe for disaster.
My advice as my husband & I are in what I'd call a triad relationship with a woman is to go slow, don't rush anything, take it slow.
Are you married?? It seems you don't have a 3rd yet or do you??
Even though ours is a FFM relationship all the components are the same.

Anyway, it seems like some friendly folks here and glad to hear some responses already.

Yes, we are married for over a decade and living in a rural situation in a tropical jungle situation and into a simple lifestyle. Garden, animals and living off grid, mostly trying to be self sufficient, but still need some necessities/luxuries like internet and communications plus a few foods that we can't grow for ourselves.
Oh, and we have a couple of teenage kids that may soon leave the nest and that's one reason that I'm looking at alternative living situations.
We have played a few times with MFM, FFM, and altho the wife enjoys it when she is in the mood, she needs to be introduced to it slowly and cautiously so she won't throw up any barriers. Never force!!

Yes, MFM or MMF – threesome involving two men and one woman; the later designation implies some bisexual contact among the men. FMM is I guess a juxtaposition of MMF. FFM or FMF is a threesome among two women and one man. The FFM designation (as opposed to FMF is often interpreted as indicating some bisexual play between the two women (FF) as part of the threesome. Although less likely, it can also suggest that the man intends on engaging in acts of penetration with only one of the two ladies. The FMF designation does not necessarily include, exclude or preclude bisexual activity between the two women.
