You can't delete posts unless you are an administrator or moderator.

The GB and several other forums do not have moderators; in those forums you need to PM Laurel or Manu and convince them that deleting your posts would be a good use of their time and worth depriving anyone who replied to a thread you started of their post counts would be to the benefit of the forums as a whole.

In other forum, you need to contact (PM) a moderator (as listed in the far right column of the index page) and convince them of the same general concerns.

Your best bet is to simply go away and not let the door hit you in the ass on your way out; just abandon your account and all of your posts.

Harold is correct, but you can clear what you have typed in a post, but if anyone had quoted it, it will remain as a quote.

Just create a new id, ignore the other.

I honestly can't imagine how you made anyone mad with your cute signature line and avatar.

But there are some people here who go WELL out of their way to start a fight.

If you are concerned about what you wrote, you can always edit your post, and type the following:

That's 5 periods "." BTW

Then save it. Your message will APPEAR blank. But yes, as Zeb said earlier, if anyone quoted your message before you 'erased' it, it will still appear in their reply.

Here's hoping you find a solution and future good friendships, Hunny Bunny ! 👯

I looked where your posts were and any comments surrounding the last several and I can't see where anyone took offense? Who was offended, about what, and why?

Looks like pretty harmless stuff.

As you've learned, once can't truly delete posts. I did see some other advice here, so of course I'll put my two-cents in as well. Sorry in advance if I'm overstepping...

Dunno if you'll come back or not, but here it goes:
On message boards, it's easy for people to get bent out of shape. It's unfortunate to see that you've replaced all of your posts with "deleted post". FYI - if anyone has quoted you, you're s.o.l. and your words remain forever. The other problem with deleting posts is that it's frustrating to check out a thread later and not be able to follow it.

Step up and apologize if you're genuinely sorry. Otherwise, if you've done nothing wrong, stand your ground. This place is but a blip compared to the rest of your life. How much does it really matter? If you feel like people aren't seeing the 'you' that you want them to see, and if it matters, stick around and be yourself. People will come around...or not.

WHY do I think I'm going to need my own advice going forward?? :cattail:
