30 years for our local council to replace the derelict toilets in our local park. I was campaigning for them to be replaced even before they closed them as unsafe.

I was present at the official opening of the new toilets, next to the toddlers' play area.
 
It took fourteen years before she said, "Can you come back after my mother goes to work?" For most of that time, I didn't know I was waiting, but everything up to that point was just preparation for that moment.

(jk - i met hubby when i was 23 - it took him almost two years to ask me to marry him. I can't blame him though - I was a total basket case back then! Fortunately for me he's been okay with my ongoing slow progress lol)
