On ADHD alone which is a pretty good marker for population compulsivity, people with ADHD, self-selected out of your population and came to America. Even in America, the incidence of ADHD, is much higher in the West were, again, an impulsive portion of the population self-selected to move into a much more hazardous environment.

Never mind the stark cultural differences, the actually biological differences between those who remained and those who left have got to be noteworthy especially as it pertains to risk-taking behavior.

Our nearest population control would be Austrailia, that does not share a land mass with a violent, impoverished Latin America, and did not import enslaved, tribesman from Africa with a propensity for violence. Then and now. Maybe you can solve Africa's violence problem with some judicious gun control laws?

If you want to make the argument that we are just Englishmen with funny American accents you have to remove every death by firearm where the victim or perpetrator was not white. When you hear of 40 people being shot in Chicago on a weekend they are not of English extraction. The only reason we don't have an even higher, more disproportionate number of deaths for Blacks in America, is because the violence is centered around some of the finest trauma centers in the world, and because blacks hold their guns sideways. (kidding, but only a little)

If you are shot with a gun in America, the odds are it was a handgun (something like 97%), not a rifle and that you and your shooter were black.(about 50%)

ADHD in action is mindless, reckless destruction and high risk action. ADHD is the bull in a china shop.

Its not daydreaming or other forms of inattention and impulsive deeds.

Obama is already politicizing without even knowing the facts behind it. If the students said they were Christians, the shooter shot them in the head.

Via Washington Times:

Chris Harper Mercer, 26, has been identified as the gunman who killed nine people on Thursday at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, according to news reports.

Mercer was killed in a shootout with Douglas County sheriff’s deputies, according to Sheriff John Hanlin.

Mercer reportedly was not a student at the college. The New York Times, quoting law enforcement officials, reported that he lived in the Roseburg area.

Mercer reportedly demanded to know the religions of those around him before opening fire.

Four guns — three handguns and a long gun — were reportedly found at the scene.

Update:
Mercer still has a Myspace up, with two connections, a man and a woman. The man, Mahmoud Ali Ehsani, appears to have a great passion for Islamists, posting multiple pictures of ‘Mujahideen’ from every country with Islamic terrorists and saying ‘kill the Jews’.

He appeared to be enamored of the IRA. He also praised Roanoke killed Vester Flanagan:

Mercer admired black gay killer Vester Flanagan who shot the reporter and cameraman on live T.V.:

In a blog linked to that identity, Harper-Mercer expressed admiration for Roanoke shooter Vester Flanagan.

People “like him have nothing left to live for,” Harper-Mercer wrote on August 31. “On an interesting note, I have noticed that so many people like him are all alone and unknown, yet when they spill a little blood, the whole world knows who they are. … A man who was known by no one, is now known by everyone. His face splashed across every screen, his name across the lips of every person on the planet, all in the course of one day. Seems the more people you kill, the more you’re in the limelight. “

I'm surprised you didn't mention his race.

Probably so, but you're thinking of Elliot Rodger.

Probablyu because I call Dom Roger, Dom Roger Elliot.

That was probably what pushed the kid over the edge. Having a name that sounded better with a comma. Roger, Elliot. <not here>

There won't be much china, silver or furniture upon her departure either.

option-command-t on my Mac brings up a whole bunch of special character sets.

Ah. Yes I am stuck with Windows. I get a lot of special characters as options on my android. Mostly, I google when I want something like an ñ, then copy paste. All of the instructions for special characters seem to involve having a number pad and I haven't one of those.

When the home computer market burst forth upon the scene, I chose the Apples over the trash...

Except for clients, I stick with Apple products. I'll do DOS if I have to, for the money, okay, put a gun to my head...

The simple truth is that American society is sick. I think it could be the loss of values and morals. I can't think of any practical legislation that can make this stop. It seriously is not the guns, it is us; we're sick, we have no morals. Not that long ago, in my community, teenagers on the rifle team took their rifles on the school bus. No one even thought twice about it. These kids came from families, with mothers and fathers that loved them. Mothers and fathers who recognized their responsibility as parents. They weren't warehoused at 8weeks of age because both parents had to work. We've foolishly denied the unique roles and responsibilities of men and women in raising children. Society has told women that being a mother is not enough and that they have to work outside the home to be fulfilled. In my lifetime, we've seen the transition to where the majority of children in school come from families where the parents are divorced. In the past we recognized that there were people who were mentally ill and posed a danger to the rest of us. Our landscape is littered with abandoned insane asylums because we decided that it was alright to have mentally ill people free in society. We released the mentally ill because we were "enlightened" but we gave them no support. I still remember seeing my first "bag lady". It was shocking. Human refuse on Fifth Avenue. We, as a society, have to look in the mirror. We are the problem. If we are going to focus on guns, laws are not going to help. We have to reduce the actual number of guns in society. Halt the production and sale. Confiscate legally owned guns; limit the number a person can own. Restrict the amount and power of ammunition. That won't work, of course. It will just trigger more resentment. The political response to the most recent tragedy represents a lack of leadership from feckless politicians.

Yeah, but that culture was based on Christian morality and that was injurious to those with dicks who identify with chicks and need to pee with them. It was harsh, judgmental and certainly not inclusive.

We are much better now that we accept and tolerate all behaviors.

As one of my Senseis used to stay, Hey, A_J, when any standard will do, a low on is just as good as a high one and a lot easier to attain.

There were so many horrible incarnations of Windows. XP was the first one that seemed to actually run without crashing incessantly.

I was stuck with it because the professional software I had to use only ran on it and it seemed like it would be buggy to run a windows emulation. That has not been true for me for about 7 years now, yet I persist with this crap.

My Dad was pretty technologically adept, but he went through the same thing. At about 40, you say "fuck it" I am not learning yet another way to skin a cat. (well he wouldn't have used the vulgarity.)

The Fraud flaps his lips to try and distract us from the ass fucking he took over Syria.

When Apple applications were a desert wasteland, I wrote my own apps and distributed them freely to my clients.

When FoxPro came out, I thought I had died and went to heaven.
