I like Plus Size chicks....who knew?

I have a problem with that. US and UK sizes sound the same but are very different:

Clothing - Single Size Conversion
UK 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22 24 26

US 1 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22

A US size 8 is a UK size 12.

But I wouldn't think 'plus size' starts until an absolute minimum of US 14 or UK 18. That's roughly 43 35 46 in inches bust, waist, hips. A real plus size model, and there are many in the UK, tends to be UK 20 and US 16 and larger.

There are some wonderful women as models who are genuinely plus size.

I don't have a problem with it...I just didn't know size 8 was a Plus Size.

Marilyn Munro was like a Size 14 I think....what a cow!

In the fashion industry there is a campaign to ban the use of models that are too skinny. But US size 8 as a plus size is ridiculous.

Marilyn Monroe and the stars of her era were real sized women in gorgeous shapes. Popular culture and fashion has moved away from women looking like Marilyn Monroe towards the over-thin.

I've always preferred women around 5'8", size 12 dress.

I guess I'm a Chubby Chaser!

All men like "plus size" females. We won't even get into the origins of the skinny pubescent boy look for women in the fashion/advertising industry.

There is not doubt the U.S. Is obsessed with beauty. Hell, just turn on the BBC. Seeing most those ugly fuckers makes you wonder how ugly the people that didn't get the part are....

Shoe sizes (men's at least) seem closer. My US 12M shows a UK 11 conversion on the tag. I agree that calling size 8 plus-sized is incorrect, but it is probably a marketing ploy since plus-sized seems to be considered by the press as the new "it". And in the U.S at least, the current younger generation are both taller and heavier than their predecessors, as was the generation before them.

My UK size 13 feet can sometimes fit in a US size 14 shoe. But most UK shoe shops don't stock anything that large. :(
