If they also take a stand against rogue apostrophes, they have my vote!:D

They have to work on correct capitalization though!

Get a veep that can do that.

Awwww, poor Cutter John. That's the last thing you want to happen on a picnic with your boo. :(

Correct grammar between sentences is one space.

;)

I had that conversation with Perg a long time ago...

Unless, of course, that was supposed to be a President-VP joke...

I can be kinda slow on the uptake.

"The old typographical superstition that it’s proper to use two spaces after a sentence should be laid to rest. Virtually every major style guide recommends a single space, and most major publishers and publications comply. If you don’t believe us, take any book off the shelf or visit any editorially scrupulous website and look closely at the spacing. Chances are good you will find no double spaces between sentences."

It's settled "literature."

This is a silly paragraph. Too many qualifiers. "Virtually" "major" "most"

I don't have to believe, it's my job. People and businesses develop their own style guides because they can.

One space...just makes me...sad.

Oh well, still getting paid for two. *shrug*

I will not ever use one space. It doesn't matter if I'm posting on the web, writing for publication, or sending a casual email. Its polite to make things easier for the reader. I also prefer to read with two spaces.

I was putting a resume together a couple years ago, and Bluey did a quick editing job for me, and changed everything to one space. I changed it back before sending the resume out.

Spank her for that.

In typing class, long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I was taught to put two spaces at the end of each sentence and to indent five spaces at the beginning of each paragraph. Granted, it was typing class, with actual typewriters, not keyboards.

Now they're not even bothering to teach the kids cursive. They should at least know that, and how to shoe a horse.

I've wondered often about that.

How will they endorse their checks? Sign a contract?

;) ;)

Oh, and btw, Lit follows the rule of one space by concatenating extra spaces. So, you are being corrected on a daily basis.

:D

Take your IBM Selectric back to the old age home when you go. Or is it a Royal that you're remembering with such fondness, you ancient slag?

A curse upon your foundation. May you ever rue the omission of an Oxford comma.

I shall take my white out elsewhere, where such things are appreciated by those with taste.

I deny that the Oxford is required for proper punctuation.123I am also going rogue and using 3 spaces between sentences.

What is the advantage of double spacing? I have never heard of it before. If it has any effect on legibility it would appear to be the wrong one.

Damn. My stories reflect this.

My posts do not!

ATTICA! PROPERLY SPACED ATTICA!

'Highlights of Peter Ustinov's global tour include encounters with Nelson Mandela, an 800 year old demi-god and a dildo collector.'

I humbly venture that an Oxford comma might have helped there, though I concede its absence adds a little humour.
