Ocean Front Property in Pine Bluff, get it now!

It's going to take a lot more than that to put me on the waterfront.

More effete east-coast chauvinism. Let's see a map of the West. I'm at around 4000 ft here but I could drive down to Port Folsom on the Sacramento Gulf in an hour or two. The drought would probably be over by then. Only 200 feet? My old home would be on Marin-Sonoma Island with the waters of Russian Sound lapping at my porch. Guess I should have kept my canoe.

Sea levels have risen an alarming 1/2 inch. Only 199 feet 11.5 inches to go till everyone drowns.

Idiocy like this is why most people do not take the actual things we should be concerned about with man's effects on his environment seriously. Chicken Little?

The earth would be warming with or without man. It is warming slightly more rapidly with man. Sea levels are not going to be up 200 feet within the lifetimes of your great grandchildren.

Way to make an intelligent comment after reading the posted article.

The good news: You’ll be long gone so … party on!
Homo sapiens sapiens, the species with the ironic name, is not known for long-term thinking. So if the very real danger of Sandy-level storm surges coming every year or two in a half century — along with Dust-Bowlification of a third of the Earth’s habitable and arable landmass — isn’t enough to stop us from using the atmosphere as an open sewer for carbon pollution, then the prospect we are going to melt all of the Earth’s land ice and raise sea levels more than 200 feet over the next few millennia or so ain’t gonna do the trick.

Yeah, humans and most other species will be extinct long before sea level rise becomes serious, so why worry?
