There seems to be two schools of thought from the loud minority.

Let them all in and hug them or build a moat around Europe and fill it with pig blood. As much as I love bacon, it is hard to decide which idea is more simplistic. AKA: Stupid as fuck.

One narrative being pushed around is these are all males. Have yet to see a credible source here but that is obviously not true. It does appear to be heavily weighted towards the swinging dick side.

I have been there done that. I understand why these people would want to escape that sand box hell hole in the best of times. More so, when you have Sunnis here, Shias there, ISIS everywhere and Russian and the USA blindly swinging bats wielded by two of the most incompetent and corrupt “leaders” of the free world.
Here is what pisses me off. It is still YOUR country. So if you are a male between the ages of 18-45 fuck off. Get back to your shit hole and fight for it. Don’t expect us to fight for something you simply abandoned. Don’t come to a country and expect to bring your bull shit religious beliefs with you. You fucked it up, you fix it. Don’t try to go break your neighbor’s toys now.

So let the old, women, children in. But fuck any pussy not willing to fight for his country because he sure the hell won’t fight for yours. Does it solve the problem? No. But it is a major fucking band aid. Not to mention, it reduces the odds of rolling out the red carpet for terrorists. Because if you do not know that there are terrorists amongst those refuges you should probably wear a helmet.

You forgot a folksy flashback before the punchline.

How's this?

Back when I was an engineer, psychologist, architect, gardener, educator, we used to kill all those who were darker than a glass of milk. It worked out well. The hot professors had sex with me afterwards and all the women loved me.

I don't know what the answer is. I don't think it's for them all to come here though.

but what bugs me is the amount of hate and resentment being spewed about a bunch of frightened, homeless people who have had to leave everything behind.
like... some dumbarse bitch on facebook was spouting about them having cellphones, like having had a decent living in their homeland and remembering to pack their phones makes them less worthy of compassion.

Expand that a bit and toss it in the loving wives section.

You never hear about the potential wealth the refugees are carrying into Europe. I'd bet the Greeks would love a boatload of Syrian cash landing on their shores.

problem? what problem

There is only one answer, NUKE the whole area, starting with that troublesome little country Israel , problem solved, and we get free oil as a bonus.

So would you been fine if all males of fighting age were turned back?

I don't know... how much would they have a chance to take with them? is the banking system there still functional?

During Lebanon's Civil War, everyone backed off and let them duke it out....same thing more or less with the Iraq-Iran war.

Last night, Trump suggested everyone get out of Syria and Iraq and let Assad & ISIL kill each other off.

There's something to be said for that, with lots of historical precedent.

You're looking at effects, not causes. Like the Rwandan genocide, the Syrian collapse resulted from crop failures, resulting from shifting weather patterns, resulting from global warming. The Syrian refugees are the tip of a hot iceberg. As desertification increases and formerly productive croplands wither, more people will flee -- to anywhere more prosperous.

Solution: Gather up all climate-change deniers, tie them together with strong cables, and let THEM stem the oncoming tides of desperate humanity. While we're at it, mix a bunch of deniers in with flame retardants and drop them on our Western wildfires. Reap what ye sow, fucktards.

i don't have any answers. at this point, each country is going about what they feel they can and are willing to do. i believe in choosing a humanitarian approach, the rest of the world steps up and supports stability for the displaced people by assisting in providing quality education to the children of the displaced. we need to look at providing them jobs and work, to fill their days. help them find productivity and stability. identify the teachers and give them access to resources. job training, so they can assimilate into a new land, and have greater value to where ever they end up. we need to ensure everyone displaced has access to clean drinking water and shelter. children need safe places to play. parents need to know they can provide for their children. young people who choose not to carry guns, need to know there is an alternative out there in the world, and that they are able to access that world. the elderly, stripped of family, need to be cared for. i believe all people need hope of a visible and tangible future.
