What I lack in talent I make up for in creativity

So I have several ideas but no time or talent to get them out. If you're interested in taking one or a few on let me know. The ideas run the gamut of erotica, but all characters are over 18. I don't do too much in the realm of mysticism, magic/fantasy, but there are one or two that are fanciful. Most of the ideas have hetero characters, but not all. I hope to collaborate with you soon.

You'll get much better results if you just post a few ideas here. Magic/fantasy contains so many possibilities, I have no idea whether our interests and ideas are at all compatible. Don't be coy, this is Literotica. Just whip 'em out.

Creativity unexpressed is a mere void. "Hey, I'm an idea guy, work with me!" Right.

Here's how it works here on SI. You throw out an idea and see how others spin it. You throw out an idea that you won't or can't write yourself an see if others will run with it. Or you have a block and you ask others to crack it. But if you just announce your brilliance and await responses, you will die old and lonely.

If you can conceptualize and can't write, you can either let others use your concept, or learn to write. It's not hard. Visualize your ideas as a video and blog it.

But if you CAN write, you might want to keep your ideas to yourself. I had a brilliant idea for a sardonic short just-desserts tale last night that came to me as a series of couplets (verse). I know what to do with it. You can't have it. I won't post it here -- I'll submit it for publication. But I won't brag (more) about how great it is. Proof in the pudding, etc.

Well, I had NO idea!

I honestly did not know how it works here. Ok, so, how do I get this ball rolling? Do I post the general main idea or all of the critical elements or everything I envision or something else? Is there already a post/forum that tells me how to do it?

I would look at the other posts in the forum for ideas, but yeah, just post as much as you have. Trust me, if you post your critical elements and others think they don't work, they won't feel bound to them.

Just start typing.

Do you have a title you think sounds good? If so, tell us. Have you browsed Lit's stories and know what category you think your story(ies) would go in? If so, let us know! If not, just start describing details and we can help you figure out the category. (IE: Will there be face sitting, swinging, interracial, incest, "May to December"?)

Do you have the "dream characters" in mind? Give us the stats. The more detail you give here the better your chances are that you'll grab an author's interest.

Don't be discouraged, though, if some members suggest that you write the story yourself. They're not being rude; they're offering genuine advice. In fact, one member oftentimes asks new members "Have you ever kept a journal or blog?" He goes on to saying any writing will be similar, and anything can get pollished. (Here's an example... Let's say your IDEA you post turns into 601 words. Lit's minimum requirement is 750 words for a submission to the site. That means you'd only have 149 words to go!) We also have a volunteer editor's forum where you can ask for help, connect with an editor, and have your writings pollished.

Regardless, post your ideas and share the wealth in your mind!!

I think that's me. ;) That formula is, play the story as a movie in your mind's eye. Blog the scene and what the players do and say. I often start with the scene, a couple plot points, and the players, and just let the characters do what they will. Then I merely transcribe them. I go back to fill in holes, trim away excess, sex it up a bit, and Voila! Masterpiece! (Right...)

Tips on posting ideas here:

* Don't post a whole story here or go into blow-by-blow detail.
* Don't present a wall of text. Keep most paragraphs under 5 lines.
* Don't be too simple (they meet and fuck) or too complex (vast conspiracies).
* Do be open to harsh or sardonic criticism of your idea. We can be brutal.
* Try to keep the orthography (spelling, punctuation, etc) clean.
* Hope that whoever steals your idea gives you credit.

But to begin, yeah, just start typing. And typing. And re-typing. Practice, practice, practice. Even Hemingway started as a dumb-ass novice.

Well, now I'm inspired!

Thank you all! After reading through the posts here I want you to know that I appreciate your taking the time to point me in the right direction(s). Lol! I think I will begin writing these ideas myself and posting them as I finish. I'll look more into the forums and find out some of that newbie guidance I'll need. Thanks again, everyone!

You are very welcome. :) If you're ever curious how something you're writing will be receved, you can post up to three paragraphs in Story Ideas or even Story Feedback for opinions. (Anything longer will become edited.) Also, if you were ever wondering "should I go this way or that" please feel free to ask here!

Enjoy your time at Lit and good luck with the writing!!
