Playing Trespasser for Inquisition.

Might as well call it "Lost in a cave while dramatic music plays."

No maps. No spoilers. Can't go to Reddit or Tumblr. Can't sleep.

Son had to solve a puzzle for me.

Send jelly beans.

Finished Trespasser.

There was screaming, (not just me, my son took over for a bit) and crying and laughing and I love/hate Bioware.

Again.

*runs up to the top of the DLC and slides down again, screaming*

Yay my computer is supposed to be here today! Hopefully this one doesn't fuck up

Yaaaay! What are you going to do first?

I'm on an Inquisition binge and can no longer be massively spoiled so Tumblr is fun.

The twist in the story is having probably one of the most...MOST...not THE most, but a fantastic character, brilliantly written as pansexual and funny, easygoing and best buddy material...even lover...

Fucking turn on you in the most brutal way.

It should not have been entirely unforeseen and even though I knew a little bit better...it still hurt like hell, and they made sure it hurt like hell with the writing.

AAAAAAH!

That's on top of the previous betrayals that are still playing out in brutal ways.

He killed me about five times. I took off his lovingly handcrafted gear before the betrayal with regret and swearing. He still fucking killed me.

Had to bring my son in to finish him off, both yelling.

Much fun was had. People are going batshit. It's great.

There was, as always, a lot of "FUCK YOU BIOWARE!" and "Awww. I love that."

Crying, yelling, anger, debates. Good stuff.

Logged on another character, not as tragic with her life choices, her lover proposed marriage, they got married. I saved and quit. Maybe we'll just end there for her...

Now I have to go through more betrayal, swearing, giving of fingers to the screen. It's fun.

First i'm gonna go through and set up the fans. Then I'll probably bounce between metal gear 5 and Starcraft 2. I beat Starcraft 2 when it first came out but now they've released expansions so I want to replay it before getting them. From there I'll go to Star wars battlefront, Fallout 4, and probably the Dragon age games.

New Vegas is doing to me what Dragon Age is doing to you. I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place. I either have to kill my faction or kill the guy who saved me a the beginning of the game. No real good solution.

Fallout 4 is closer than I thought, only 2 months.

I'm not sure I'm going to make it through New Vegas, I wanted to do all of them, but 1 was too old, 2 was too old, 3 didn't work in my Steam install, and I keep starting New Vegas and thinking...nah. I keep going back to Warcraft and leveling up to get ready for "Legion" - new expansion.

Maybe 4 will inspire me to go back, but I've got to have a dog. Dragon Age 1 and 2 had dog companions, (Big complaint of Inquistion - no Mabari bonded hound) and Fable 2 was my favorite for the dog. (Again, making me cry for hours.)

Save the world or save my dog? REALLY?!

Can't wait to replay Final Fantasy VII and cry...again...still.

Yeah, I love the games that kick my ass. Bioware is best at it, but Bethesda also does a pretty good job.

As far as I'm concerned, if you get me to care at all, jaded as I am, entirely willing to not be invested because you stabbed me in the back with that trust 50 times already...good on you, ladies and gentlemen. With your dialogue and your voice acting, I'm officially a thrilled (if not uncomplaining) ultimate masochist.

Although I do have to say in Inquisition you can...with some characters...get an actually...closer to happy ending if you work your ass off, which was not possible in 1 and 2.

I hope you enjoy Dragon Age, 1 and 2 are definitely dated by now, but I've put in hundreds...really hundreds of hours on each game. Just replayed both within the last few months. Origins is heavily modded for me though, including the ending. I didn't like a particular outcome enough and argued on the Bioware boards enough so that the main writer told me I could have my mod. I punch someone instead of letting them make a certain choice for me. Of course I do.

Fortunately I tend to play all possible outcomes and I don't get entirely attached to one fate, though I do a bunch of cursing on that character's behalf.

I beat origins and worked on 2 for a while but got bored. In new vegas you can get a cyborg dog. He's my main companion because he's a badass.

Heh. Well, I played a female that romanced Alastair first. If you bring him to the rooftop, he will tell you he won't let you take the final killing blow and he'll run out and do it himself.

I argued that's insubordination and he's done everything I've damned well said up to this point, some very, very dicey things. I punch him out, take the blow and die instead. It's lovely. It is strictly within canon and character. My character.

Dragon Age 2 is really an anti-hero game, and it's more about the stories of your companions than the actual story, which is fucked beyond comprehension. Basically, all you ever do is make things worse, and then at the end you set up both catastrophes that trigger the beginning of Inquisition.

The world of DA2 is much more intimate, its you and your fucked up mostly drunk friends arguing and bickering and sleeping with each other. It took a few playthroughs for me to appreciate how intricate they made it, focused on the story. I hadn't been aware, but they made each romanceable companion bisexual, a pretty huge first, and glorious writing to back that up. If I had to pick my favorite dialogue, it'd be from 2. If I had to pick my favorite romance, it'd be from 1, and if I had to pick my "Finally, a reasonably not insane and mature story that isn't basically a frat house running around burning things down..." It's Inquisition.

CYBORG DOG! That's what I'm talking about.

Wish I could take HK-47 from KOTOR with me everywhere too.

So many favorite people and synthetics.

Got the new computer. Seems to be running cooler then the other one but I haven't played any games on it yet. I downloaded two different programs to monitor and adjust fan speeds but neither work. I think the computer is set up to stop that kind of tweaking. I suppose I'll bugger it up somehow.

I am right there with you on the fan fear.

Have to clean it often, too.

About to get a new one for our son, graphics starting to stutter.

Made me laugh out loud and now the song's stuck in my head and is going to make me inappropriately giggle while I'm at the doctor's office.

I'm going to miss Hannibal lots.

I've yet to watch the final ep. Was looking for it on catch up but I can't find the fucker. I did not enjoy this series at all apart from the first few episodes in Florence ('bowels in, or bowels out?') but I will miss it for sure.

I think the second season was the best.

This one was disjointed but it had its moments.

Well got the new computer and I'm upgrading it to windows 10. I've played metal gear a bit but it crashes the computer. I'm hoping the upgrade fixes the issue. On the plus side this one is running much cooler. Cpu temps average in the upper 50s low 60s Celsius
