Trillions?! I'd be hard pressed to even get into the mid millions! Well I guess that partially depends on how many people happened to be on some of Sim Earth when I directed an asteroid at it that one time.

Oh, well, yeah, considering the number of times I've played Alpha Centuri, Civilizations 1-however many now and Romance of The Three Kingdoms IV - XII we are talking shitloads of people murdered through advancing tech trees and mind worms.
Play a few space sims, populate and wipe out a few planets, the numbers add up.
Yeah, one asteroid doesn't do much. Dedicated slaughters of lots of populations take work.
Hell, with all my run-throughs just of Mass Effect lately there's only one scenario that wipes out about 300,000 each time. I mean, they're only Batarians and Batarians are pretty much assholes. But still.

Yeah, I don't do a lot of space sims. I'm familiar with Romance though. . . the hours you'd have to dedicate to kill millions though. Holy shit they had tiny populations! I mean if you're looking for ten digit slaughters!

Yeah, I know it would bore the crap out of everyone else, really, but I would love to sit there for 48 hours, build up archers, build the walls, take my followers out for a drink, make all female diplomats that would go around and talk everyone's castles out from under them...
My husband and son would watch me for a few minutes and then start to ostentatiously snore until I threw something at them.
Build all that and then unleash it in the last few hours.

I'm patient, which is why I rack up a bigger body count that most. Sure, Team Fortress 2 you can get a few hundred in a day, but to rack a few million a week takes patience.
