How often do you buy a new purse or wallet?

I have a new pocketbook. It's a small black leather thing that can be worn on my back.

Handbags… Don't even get me started…
If you show me yours, I'll show you mine (my collection)

My last one went for 15 years before I bought a new one just recently.

Had it not simply worn thin I'd still have it.

I don't understand the need to spend money on something like that any more than necessary....it's a fuckin' wallet/purse. Get one that works the 1st time and you don't have to buy/spend time shopping for a bunch of shitty ones.

I stopped carrying a wallet years ago. I never carried money it in, that always goes in a front pocket. My license, cards are just a small stack in my back pocket.

gosh, so typically male;)

Never. I get given them for Christmas sometimes and they sit in a drawer until the one I'm currently using disintegrates. Then I switch.

Every couple of years. I don't think I've ever actually bought a handbag. I seem to inherit my sister's hand me downs.

I've never been much of a purse fan. So I tend to find one and stick with it until it's falling apart. Same thing with wallets. I've had my same leather wallet for 3 years now and it's starting to fall apart.

My "wallet" is entirely virtual, cloud-based...

..(meaning that it doesn't exist, and ideas of it being fat and happy come from a head-stuck-in-the-clouds imagination).

Triple stitched letha.....the simpler the better. As long as you aren't totally abusive it should last you a considerably longer time than 3 years, just tossin' that out there if you decided to go for a utility/functional piece when you go to replace it.

So how do you carry about your ID's and other things you can't make virtual?

I mean the money/card bit I get, but you can't digitize everything yet, or can you?

Inquiring minds are curious n' shit because reasons.

I'm guessing some of the wallets in here are older than I.

BTW, for those who are looking for quality and don't mind transport etc.(a good bag lasts forever, doesn't it?)
- I recommend Countryroad's totes (and occasionally, some of their handbags are pretty too), as well as their cosmetic bags.
- ps: although I liked the clothes, on my last trip to the US I felt that handbags were either too expensive, or crappy
Countryroad combines the 'it' of italian bags (quality leather, esthetics) with the more practical aspects (their bags are a lot roomier than they appear and they have many pockets)

Any other preferences? Brands etc.?

I replace wallets as needed. When the old one falls apart I buy a new one.

My most recent purse ("body bag" by Demonia):

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41K7aJH0ObL._SY395_.jpg

It was a cheap, poorly constructed thing from Demonia (couldn't tell before buying it because I bought it online - and it was my first item from the Demonia line). Broke on the third day of being worn. Makes me hesitant about their shoes...

I now have my eye on a bag that's shaped like a coffin by a different brand. Hope it lasts longer.

Edit: All I've wanted all my life though, is a handbag made out of real human skin (being serious...looked it up, but it appears to be illegal almost everywhere). Buffalo Bill Couture.

very hip…
Can't help wondering what style of clothes you buy:)

My wallet was an investment a few years back, my handbags last a few months, work case for laptops, etc., last longer. I despise shopping at malls and wish online handbag buying was easier.

Wallet= money clip=Vegas about 9 years ago

Purses.....well the local LV store knows my face so I would say too often.

Luxury designer goods' prices have skyrocketed over the last decade. I'm hoping that if the stock market stays low that we will see more sales again. I doubt they'll lower retail prices- that's an image thing.

It's been like five years or so since I've bought a wallet. I buy a new purse once every year or two.
