I'm making a drive from Dallas to New Orleans tomorrow. I'll be there for 5 days total. Any suggestions on fun things to do in New Orleans? Ill be there for a conference and will have 3 days free. Thank you.

If you like comedy there are a lot of great free shows around downtown, particularly one on Tuesday nights at the Howlin' Wolf Den. A bunch of local comics do the show, but sometimes major headliners show up, it's all free and super fun.

If you're staying near the french quarter, Lafitte's bar is fun - it's all candle-lit, no electricity or artificial light, so it has a weird, moody vibe.

And there's a ton more restaurants. Now I wish I was going with, to be your tour guide!

Yeah, you have to be careful where you're walking at night. Nothing bad ever happened to me, but I have plenty of friends who've been on the bad end of a NOLA evening. I'm glad you're having fun!
