Why don't you tell me what I should drive? Here is what I want;

To be able to cruise at 80-90mph and have at least 30mph left in reserve. And get 20mpg while doing so.

To be able to do that in an auto that has some room, in the cabin, and the trunk (boot for the non-English speakers).

Something I can drive up to 400K miles with just normal maintenance. (Knowing full well that in the minds of far too many, 'normal maintenance' means doing nothing at all.)

And because I already have a car that meets my requirements, I have no need to shop, or the desire to.

So Sparky, which car should I buy that hasn't been government subsidized. Honda? How about a Benz? Maybe a Volvo.

Government investment in new ideas/projects is a long standing American tradition that has worked and will work again.

That's not to say they don't eat it like any investor or that the market doesn't have any say so/force in any given industry/economy, it does. But it's not the only way nor is it as black and white "Government bad, private good" as you and some of the other uber RW types like to try and make it out to be.
