Remove rainbow flags from public spaces?

In light of today's racially and sexual orientation motivated shooting in Virginia, is it time to finally remove homosexual "rainbow" flags and other gay symbols from public property and buildings?

What about removal of Martin Luther King statues and other black history monuments and symbols?
 
Its time to remove the Martin Luther King monument from the mall in Washington. How many more tragedies will we have to endure so long as these sorts of monuments are displayed in public places?
 
Please show any connection between rainbow flags and those who commit hate crimes.

And as for Martin Luther King monuments, there aren't any.

Since when was proof of hate crime connection a prerequisite for prohibition of anything in the US?

What does prohibition have to do with it? The guy only wants rainbow flags removed from public property and buildings. What reasons are valid for that?

The is the USA we censor and ban anything offensive because we don't want to offend anyone.....if rainbow flags piss some folks off why not ban it from public space? :confused:

Confederate flags have been pissing folks off since they were designed, but they managed to be displayed through the entire 20th century.

No matter if they take every flag down, it's still are going to be gay people. You're still going to see them in public, you're still going to be around them and they're still going to exist. Finding a rainbow flag offensive is finding gay people offensive. And what one choose to do in their own bedroom isn't anyone business. Is a bag of skittles offensive? Then a rainbow flag shouldn't be. Just because someone isn't like you doesn't make them any less of a person than you. We should be progressing, not going backwards. And the same way people find those flags offensive, is the same way people finding me black is offensive. What is kinda fucked up. Change never going to happen if people keep making problems over pointless shit like this.

You see a rainbow in the sky, and say ohh,that's pretty. But see a flag on a building and find it offensive? That's stupid.

In general the first amendment. I know everybody apparently got dropped on their heads in the last few months but you lot do know the Confederate Flag was not banned right? Some states were pressured into taking it down (as well they should have) and all the biggest retailers in the US (Wal-Mart, Amazon, Apple, E-Bay and a few I'm forgetting) dropped it from their stores but that wasn't about laws. It was about business. Personally I'm not in agreement with that but it's still not a ban.

The flag was taken down from the State House grounds here in South Carolina by law. It didn't mean it couldn't be flown there by others, evidenced by the KKK rally just a few days later.

Doesn't mean much anymore just like the rest of the amendments. There are a fucking laundry list of shit I can't say/do/express because offensive. Flags are just as subject to PC regulations as any other expressive format.

If we can ban one thing because offensive why not any other things a community deems offensive? :confused:

They can. The legislature/governor can decide what flags it does and doesn't want to be officially displayed on government property.

Government buildings should fly Anal Sex flags....to give a more accurate representation of what goes on in the bldg.
