And work is coming through with a couple of "acting" positions. I get the little one. We'll see.


I guess the raise comes when the "acting" bit goes away.

Our vacations had to be bundled with National and International Tournaments, otherwise, there was pretty much no way that I could take off from a six-day a week job.

The Big Boss likes me, and we have that Mutual Old Fucker understanding. There might be leapfrogs when I get my HVAC card.


But it downs on me, if you're just working on your own shit, why should it matter??? It doesn't for a lot of other permits. It's when you hang out a shingle.

Nothing more, nothing less. Studies show that being licensed does not improve the quality, but it does impeded the import of new entrants into the field.
 
I have no doubt that some of those entrants need to be impeded. It's fuck-ups, Gaia damn it. They fuck it up for everybody else.

Some people just shouldn't be allowed to own houses, drive cars, or have kids. I could get behind those kinds of regulations . . . provided I get to write them.

Today, I must take out some bamboo which has decided to sprout where it wants to, not where I want it to. There will be carnage, but I will be victorious, keeping in mind that it is a battle, the war will never end. Never, ever plant bamboo.

There is some growing halfway down the alley which I fear will one day sprout up here. I have enough goddamn problems with the privet, the trees of heaven/hell - AKA ghetto palms, and all of the other unwanted vegetation which just won't stay dead. I'm not even sure that burning it all off and then sowing salt and plowing that into the ground would be enough.

I got sideways leapfrogged. My immediate supervisor and I were both shoved up an "acting" rank. In other words, if we can act like it, we'll keep the positions. The big boss had said he wasn't moving Gordo up, but then he did. So I asked him why later, and he said he had no one else, and he wanted to consider any managerial hires veeeeeeeery carefully. So I said, you want me to manipulate him? and he said, you read my mind. :rolleyes:


Then I got a long drive last night.


Shit is weird . . . .
