Built to Spill didn't lose much when they signed but the label had no idea what to do with them other than to say, "Look! We gots us a true indie arteest!"

I'm just glad them and Dino Jr. are still making good music,

KYUSS - One of my all timers. Ever hear SloBurn? Also very good.

LOL

SloBurn is great stuff....just didn't pop up in the head so didn't make the list.

Yea High On Fire, first got introduced to them live at the old EMO's in Austin, the crowd about tore the place down when they played 'rumors of war'.........

I can still smell the BO, stale cheap beer, piss and cigg stank that permeated that hole in the heat of summer.......but where else you going to go see shows like that? It would be wrong anywhere else but some shit hole gutter punk bar.

I read an old interview with Kyuss and the reporter asked what the name "Kyuss" meant. One of them said, "Knowing You're Under Someone's Scrotum".

Who are your favorites?

I lean towards greasy, chuck berry-derived stuff. Keef.

Arcane example; I used to love Rod Stewart when Ronnie Wood was his guitarist.

And i always like Rod's live album with the Faces. Sloppy, but fun:

Big Beethoven fan, too...so I like anything Eddie Van Halen does, because he's always lifting Beethoven hooks.

And Ginger Baker.
