Well, I finally got my DNA test results and I'm surprised, even though I probably shouldn't be. It appears I'm 99% European by descent. When I was stationed in Germany while in the military I was jokingly told I looked more German than most Germans, and even that I looked like I had stepped out of one of Hitler's Aryan master race posters, but I didn't take any of that seriously, of course. Anyhow, this is the breakdown:

Europe West- 40% (looks like mostly Germany and France on the map)

Great Britain- 31%

Scandinavia- 16%

Ireland- 9%

Iberian Peninsula- 2%

European Jewish- 1%

Europe East- trace, less than 1%

Africa- trace, less than 1% (trace regions Cameroon/Congo)

America 0% (there goes the Cherokee story)

Asia 0%

West Asia 0%

I really thought there would be some Native American based on what I've been told in the past about my father's side of the family. That distant great grandmother with Indian blood never existed, obviously.
