Extremist Right has declared an acid test, and Donald Trump has passed it

What GOP Conservative Republican could overcome being labeled a cuckservative ?

Over the past week, a coalition of social media–savvy white supremacists and hardcore trolls have lifted the derogatory term “cuckservative” from the fringes of the “alt-right” internet to the cusp of the mainstream political conversation. A portmanteau of “cuckold” and “conservative,” the word refers broadly to mainstream Republicans who hold insufficiently conservative or even progressive positions on hot-button social issues like transgender rights, state use of the Confederate flag, and, especially, immigration.

The term’s connotations are racist. By alluding to a genre of porn in which passive white husbands watch their wives have sex with black men, it casts its targets as impotent defenders of white people in America. Prominent “cuckservatives” include Jeb Bush, John McCain, and Marco Rubio, politicians who have, in the imagination of the term’s promulgators, adopted a false — liberal — consciousness to appeal to the shifting opinions of the American electorate. In this narrative, the anti-cuckservative hero is Donald Trump, who is unafraid to speak a racially inconvenient truth about the dire trajectory of white men.

Rino was not harsh enough ? I am guessing that we will never hear this term on the national evening news.

So, what does this have to do with conservatism or politics? By supporting immigration reform, criminal justice reform, etc., a white conservative is therefore surrendering his honor and masculinity (and it won’t be long before his women folk are compromised, as well!). A cuckservative is, therefore, a race traitor. The suggestion is that whites should only support policies that help whites. The goal is to stir up fear among whites—and to encourage more tribalism and polarization.

The term is blowing up on Twitter right now, so Matt Lewis wrote about it in an effort to keep it from catching on with other conservatives as a synonym for RINO, which was good of him. I’m writing about it because I’m not nearly as nice, and I find it amusing on several levels. The self-satisfaction of the Trump fans who use this term serves to reinforce their own insecure, overcompensatory, and toxic masculinity, but it also reveals the razor-thin gradients of conservative belligerence. There is nary a Republican presidential candidate who disagrees with Donald Trump on the substance, and I’d challenge anyone to find a conservative blogger who hasn’t used the similarly pseudo-butch insult “beta male,” including Erick Erickson. Nice guys like Matt Lewis notwithstanding, the “cuckservative” slur and the Trump candidacy are as perfect examples as I’ve ever seen of reaping what you sow.

This leads to a parade of gigantic macho trucks carrying gigantic Confederate flags, young white men, and guns. Where do they park ? On the land of an African-American woman who is giving a party for a child. What do the young white men do, while trespassing ? Holler racial slurs, swears, and shout threats about killing people at the party. When does the ugly incident end ? When the police tell the young white men to leave.

I had not heard that term before. Geesh

It was, however, nice to hear a republican say this

"Wisconsin's doing terribly. First of all, it's in turmoil. The roads are a disaster because they don't have any money to rebuild them. They're borrowing money like crazy," he said. "I wrote this stuff all down, although I don't need it because I have a really good memory — but they projected a $1 billion surplus and it turns out to be a deficit of $2.2 billion. And money all over the place. The schools are a disaster, and they're fighting like crazy because there's no money for the schools. The hospitals and education is a disaster."

Real simple, Trump knows what ALL conservatives know. Mainstream Republicans are really middle of the road Democraps.

What America needs is a REAL Conservative as a Republican candidate. Third party candidates only serve to kill any chance for Conservative victory.

Does the name Ross Perot ring a bell?

I welcome divisions in the Republican Party. The deeper and more bitter they are the more I like them. :D

Suggesting that Republican politicians who are moderate on social issues would share their wives with black men is hilarious. :nana:

The leaders of the Republican Party do not care about much but making the richer. Tax cuts for the rich are not the reason the white working class has become a Republican constituency. White blue collar Republicans want red meat when it comes to issues like immigration and gay rights.

What you consider to be a REAL Conservative would go down in crashing defeat. The American people are becoming more liberal on social issues.

Because he can...

Maybe it's a tactic to divert attention from having nothing else to offer but inflammatory rhetoric.
Talking trash is easy, particularly for a press designed to exploit sensationalism.

Detailed, nuanced policy is difficult and doesn't lend itself to sound bites geared toward eliciting emotional responses.

I understand your position and agree wholeheartedly..my point being..it does not concern him that he is shaking shit up. Whether he goes on to secure a nomination..or his campaign bites the dust.. He has more money than God and is free to do as he chooses... No skin off his nose either way.

Sure, I see what you mean.

Mark my words, Trump will run as a third party candidate if he polls out in the top three or four of all the candidates after he loses in the primary.

Fuck all you nigger lovers with a nigger dick.

I hope the OP is one of Rory's alts, because he/she seems to be getting more and more angry and hysterical as time goes on. From relatively benign posts about Boston in the past, the poster is sounding more and more emotionally disturbed and out of touch with reality.

If he/she is a sincere individual, I would suggest seeking psychiatric help. Clearly the poster is not well.

Donald Trump’s biggest backers really are as ignorant and hateful as you assumed

The qualities that many reasonable people find repellant about Donald Trump are exactly what his staunchest supporters like about him.

A dozen Republican and self-described independents from New Hampshire, which will hold the nation’s first presidential primary, discussed the real estate tycoon and reality TV star’s appeal as part of a Bloomberg Politics focus group.

“Donald Trump is strong,” said Nick, a home inspector. “He carries a sentiment and frustrations that I think a lot of Americans are going through and feeling right now. He’s the one that’s able to articulate that, and bring those frustrations to light. I believe him when he talks.”

Teahadists support Trump?

I overheard some Trump supporters this evening, discussing how he's a "real American success story." I laughed.

Someone remind the Trump-ettes that
he was born into money, attended the best schools, and had the advantage of using the government to pay for his bankruptcies.

Trump was born in New York City in 1946, the son of real estate tycoon Fred Trump. Fred Trump’s business success not only provided Donald Trump with a posh youth of private schools and economic security but eventually blessed him with an inheritance worth an estimated $40 million to $200 million.

He went to UPenn. My friend is especially ashamed of that particular alumni.
